What are we still afraid of?

This is heartbreaking and well worth a read:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/10/10/coronavirus-denier-sick-spreader/?arc404=true

"When President Trump got sick, I had this moment of deja vu back to when I first woke up in the hospital. I know what it’s like to be humiliated by this virus. I used to call it the “scamdemic.” I thought it was an overblown media hoax. I made fun of people for wearing masks. I went all the way down the rabbit hole and fell hard on my own sword, so if you want to hate me or blame me, that’s fine. I’m doing plenty of that myself."

I read that last night and really felt for him. I have been wondering how the people are coping who took risks and ended up unintentionally part of an outbreak that ended in knowing people who died. It's gotta be devastating.

With a common owner.

The story was obviously greatly embellished. No one wakes up in the ER after passing out with 10 Doctors surrounding them. Especially not a COVID-19 patient. They try to avoid as many people in the same room.

I think it's an important story. We've been in a bubble with my elderly parents since the pandemic began. 8 days ago my kids were visiting them, and without telling me my parents let a relative who was visiting from out of town stop by. They met inside, without masks, and when my parents told me that I was floored. I couldn't believe it... They just said that they felt it would be ok. Two days ago my kids developed a sore throat and runny nose. Now I can't smell anything and have a runny nose. I'm getting tested today and we've all been staying put. Because of their behavior of not taking this seriously we could die.

I hope you aren’t projecting “we could die!” to your kids.

And I seriously doubt this is the first time in 7 months your parents did this. You’ve been wasting your efforts. Elderly Mom and Dad obviously want more out of their remaining time.

I’m sorry to the OP, I hope you all recover quickly.
We recently visited my in-laws outdoor - for the first time since February - because they are too socially active to be with in a bubble.

Sorry that part I know. What I'm unsure about is what the article had to do with amazon.com

That is awful! I don't trust anyone right now and only see people outdoors. It stinks, but is far preferable to getting ill. I hope you get through it quick and easily.

DP. It could be so construed that continued sheltering at home equals a lot more Amazon ordering. Therefore more profit for Jeff Bezos.
