Now they are saying 10 to 20 inches more snow... what are you doing to prepare?

by crying into my drink?
nah, whatcha gonna do? hope for the best and realize it will be over sometime. Right? This is the last storm, isn't it? |
Restocked on food, coffee, wine, candles and propane. Shoveled like crazy in the last 3 hours. We're going to try to clear the roof tomorrow. Thankfully the county came today and cleared a tree that was about to hit a power line. |
We're going OUT for dinner tonight!! That will go a long way for our sanity and our food supply. We live on an emergancy snow route and off a main road so we can easily get out to the restaurant (without being accused of "joyriding").
We bought a digital antena yesterday for the superbowl because Comcast (internet and cable) was out for 2 days (my personal hell). So if cable goes out again at least we can watch the basic networks. And thank god for our iphones. |
Lubricant. Lots of lube. |
DH bought groceries. We looked for wood, no wood anywhere. |
Gin. |
I bought groceries today, but that's about it. I'm seriously depressed at the thought of this much more snow. ![]() |
Me too. I like snowtorms, but this is just NOT FUNNY ANYMORE! |
Snowstorms, sorry |
Yeah, the first one was kinda fun and exciting (well, for us, since we didn't lose power and such). This is just sucking HARD. I have work to do that can't be done at home, but I'm also not about to risk my life getting downtown, because let's face it, it's not THAT important.
I'd like to be able to read more than one sentence of my book before I hear 'MOM!!!!' screamed at me for the zillionth time today. But preparing...yeah, well, not buying much more food because I'm sure we're up for a power outage from this one. Plus I've cooked so much, I've used up all our containers with leftovers. And I'm getting blizzard butt! |
Case of wine at Rodman's. |
We went out to eat tonight, too. And I got more milk and bread and ingredients for soup. That's about it. |
This made me laugh - I like the way you think. I'm so glad we left the house today - went out to lunch and to the store, primarily to get the newspaper. I am trying not to think about the next storm and wish there would be a decision about work tomorrow, because sort of half preparing and wondering is driving me crazy. |
Grocery shopping -- keeping in mind what we can cook on gas range if we lose power again and don't have use of the oven and microwave;
liquor store; we still have lots of movies, so don't need to go there; recharging phones in case power gets knocked out and we have to use landlines (this time I'm double-checking to be sure my teen DS has his phone charged); all shovels and snowbrushes on the covered part of the front porch so we can find them easily; putting pet-friendly hotel on speed dial in case we have to go back there! Good luck, all! |
