OP here, lol that would be ideal. My AAP DC is naturally gifted and we haven’t spent money on math and ELA tutoring from 5 years of age. It’s unlike he stands a chance compared to his peers who have been trained since age 5 in math & ela and are doing Algebra 2/Geometry in Grade 7. My second Non AAP will never cope in TJ environment. So there is a strong need for a good base HS school.

I live nearby that one and commute to Tysons. It's not too bad and there's a couple route options... with Waze I usually avoid the worst of it. My DCs are preschool so hopefully by the time they hit HS there'll have been some more substantial efforts to address overcrowding issues at McLean HS... we'll see... 10 years to solve a simple problem seems ambitious with this school board...

Personally I agree with the response you got from Chantilly and Oakton, I don’t want my public school administrators giving tours while my kids are in school. I find it creepy and unnecessary.

This is a big move for families relocating to the area especially when their kids are in MS/HS. Everyone wants to tour to see what they are getting into. Most families tour universities before they apply, one of the many reasons, how will your kid fit in.

I don't think there's any FCPS schools where it isn't teachers/students/locals doing murals and artwork....

I remember this area when we were looking at houses in the Haycock/Longfellow schools 1.5 years ago... it was also crazy back then with almost no SFH on the market under 1 million. Even though the schools seemed amazing we didn't think the large premium was worth it and chose to buy in Vienna instead.

You want to believe other kids have been trained since age 5 because you do not want to admit your kids are not so good.
