^^ That bathroom quilt must get so dirty! |
Hello, friends! Hope you are safe and sound, enjoying your homes these days. Some requests have built up. Let me see what I can do about that...
It's hard to find good basement photos from shelter magazines...not that you even need to limit yourself to those. You could look for living rooms and family rooms, too. If you like rustic and industrial, you might also want to use contemporary and modern in your searches for photos. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Believe it or not, this is a basement. ![]() |

So it sounds like you are looking for two lights, one chandelier for over a dining table and one that might be flush or semi-flush for the library/play room adjacent. I LOVE lighting and would be happy to source some options, but aside from knowing there's oil-rubbed bronze fixtures already in the dining room, I don't know what your style is. Tell me what if you are traditional, contemporary, modern, etc. |
I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what I'm being asked to find here. I'm good at find inspiration for certain styles and rooms, but for this amount of specificity, you might want to spend a couple hundred dollars and use an e-design service. You send them pictures and they create a plan for your specific space. |
Anyone know which wallpaper is in the first photo with the two white dogs? |
It's John Robshaw fabric on the walls. It's not on his website anymore, but it might be floating around on some website. I'm not sure of the name. Michael S. Smith designed the room. |
Thank you! |
EyeCandy here from my phone. Schumacher just posted a room with a pretty wallpaper that might be a nice alternative: https://www.instagram.com/p/CIRoF9lAH8J/?igshid=i07ax8bts0yp |
You are a DCUM treasure, Eye Candy. |
Aw, thank you!!! You are so kind. Light fixture person, are you still around? I just need some direction for your dining room/library/playroom situation! |
Not the light figure person, but another person expressing appreciation. Eye Candy, you are amazing! I look forward to your contributions. |
Thanks EyeCandy! You are amazing! |
Thank you, Eye Candy! I am here. My style is.......new traditional + global organic eclectic? That's what a couple internet quizzes tell me. I'm pretty new at this. The house is a Queen Anne Victorian with all the indoor trim. The current dining room furniture is an inherited traditional dark wood dining room set. The existing oil-rubbed bronze wall sconces look sort of like this: ![]() Starting from scratch I probably wouldn't go so traditional with the furniture, but I love the history and can't afford to replace anytime soon anyway. I'd like something that fits in with that traditional style but is not too fussy. The dining room is a deep red. Light hardwood floors. The adjoining room is white and pretty plain so far, white bookshelves, remote learning desks, and a piano keyboard. No lighting apart from desk lamps because we can't decide. There is a ceiling box to put in something overhead. When looking at lighting on-line, my kids gravitate to things with lots of crystals, which I'm open to. Thanks for any tips! |
Anyone recognize this piece of art on the wall? J/K. It might be a tv but wth is going on there?? Looks like a cult. EyeCandyOP: attic work spaces/offices (angled ceilings, windows if possible. |
