I ran to the bus stop to catch an approaching shuttle, but the bus just rolled on past it. I had to run after it and wave the driver down. WTH? He opens the door, I board and he's on the cell phone. I keep quiet for 13 blocks, savoring the warmth until we get close to Chinatown. I tell him to let me off at the metro. We get to the metro and he keeps rolling. I'm like, "hello?!?!" I pointed to the metro, and the bus stop we just passed and said stop, stop! He stops a block past it. Still on his cell phone. Ugh! I'm so reporting him tomorrow. |
Apparently he missed the memo that cell phone + driving + dc= illegal.
Wish they'd enforce that more. Good for you for reporting it! That's absurd. |
He most definitely missed the memo, because I don't think he understood a word of English. |
Definitely report it! |
I will. If DH had been there, he probably would've shut his cell phone and told him to drive! haha! I don't have the nerve though.
I can't wait until they build the trolley! |
He probably also missed the memo about getting caught on the phone and being automatically fired. |
whatever |
What "shuttle"? Was this a Metro bus or what? |
agreed. unnecessary zumba. |
Something to H St? (You mentioned trolleys.) Who employs this guy? |
Agree it's unnecessary, but I'm glad that you're reporting him. If he got in an accident with a huge bus many could get hurt. |
PP here. (I meant he could get in an accident because of being on the cell phone.) |
How nice. |
I don't understand why saying someone does not understand English is offensive.
It sounds like a fact to me. Sounds a hell of a lot ruder to look so down on someone who doesn't speak English that you see it as an insult. |
Assuming that someone doesn't speak a word of english because you didn't hear them speak any english is the insanely offensive part.
I HIGHLY doubt that this person doesn't speak a word of English - it is racist and offensive to insinuate otherwise. |
