Yes, we drink wine with dinner regularly, but usually just one glass. If we go out I will have a cocktail, and have them maybe once a month at home.
Most of our friends drink, some more heavily than others. |
I didn't stop with Meloxicam. |
Brands: Mobic, Comfort Pac-Meloxicam, and Vivlodex Availability: Prescription needed Pregnancy: Consult a doctor Alcohol: Avoid. Very serious interactions can occur |
Read details. I had other drugs at the same time that are listed as bad potential interactions (due to serious injury). Standard side effects. I stopped Meloxicam though as I didn't feel the effects fast enough. I go by how I feel. For example, I can't eat more than three French fries, they make me feel bad. |
I can't drink much, and it interferes with my sleep. Yes, I pass out quickly, but then wake at 2 or 3 and can't get back to sleep. So I rarely drink anymore.
I miss it. Most of my friends drink much less than they did in their 20s, that's for sure. Maybe when out to dinner or when having friends over. And nobody gets drunk. Tipsy maybe. |
I miss it but can't handle it any more. I still cook with it though. |
I don't, and never did. My 45+ friends definitely still drink. Now more than ever as we have more disposable income and more time for it than they did when kids were little.
|
I do drink.
I rarely have three. Bottomless has no appeal. |
Do you mean like magic tricks and such? |
I am 50. I drink. 80% of my friends drink.
I have a drink and split a bottle of wine every weekend night. Sometime I don't have a drink, then I have a whole bottle myself. I drink more at super bowl parties, weddings, xmas parties, etc. |
Nice. I want to party with you bro. |
I quit drinking in 1987 so take my response with whole salt shaker but my impression is that older people don't party hard at bars so much as they continue to drink at home. The people I know who have drinking problems just continue to drink - they're not cutting back but they're a lot quieter about it.
Also, OP, I'm wondering what kind of folks are more likely to respond to your post. I bet you're getting more people who have cut back on drinking than there are in the general population. But that's just a guess on my part. |
DH and I rarely ever drink--may 2-3 times per year and never to excess. I used to drink but quit when I had kids. |
Funny. I started drinking when I had kids. Just kidding. This is a great question. Before I got married and I was dating, I used to drink more on dates because I was very shy. Now, I am much less shy and feel like more than one drink per hour reduces the thrill of the evening. Just to address this before another poster brings it up, I have not found that drinking causes any problems regarding sex and I believe that dating and relationships are much easier now for me than 25 years ago (e.g., I can be a better date, lover, etc. because I have more experience and confidence than when I was younger. I can also be more focused on her rather than worried about something I might say or do "wrong".) I am interested in how the single women feel about this. Ladies - if you drink, do you think a glass of wine helps "put you at ease" or "in the mood"? |
No, just plain old sex. |
