DW plays Pokémon Go instead of holding hands when we walk

Millions of people still play and Niantic is making a fortune off this game. Try playing it with her on your phone. You may just enjoy this new activity you can do together while walking. Then agree to both put the phones away at some point towards the end of the walk and just enjoy each other.

Um, have you talked to her. Tell her that you miss being able to hold her hand when you walk? Ask her if some walks can be Pokemon-free? Because if you haven't done that, that's where to start.

People still play Pokemon go, but I guess the olds of DCUM wouldn't know that.

Talking to her about it, OP. Tell her how you enjoy your walks as time to connect. If she must have Pokemon go on your walks and no other time, try to negotiate half the week with PG, the other half without.

I'm willing to bet that the young ones are those who moved on, and the olds are the ones who are still playing it

+1 like all trends - once old people are playing it, young people have stopped playing it a looooong time ago!

I get you like to hold hands but maybe she dislikes it.

Yes. She did before she got into Pokémon Go. We don't hold hands all the time. A lot of the time, off and on. But now it's not at all.

I'm glad many of you are having fun at my expense, but I'd appreciate one or two concrete suggestions.

How was that response making fun of you?

Not that response. Others.

But that's OK. If they're having a good time at my misfortune, they can go right ahead.

I have no answer but this made me laugh.

Did you marry your high school sweetheart? While she was still in HS?

How old is she, 10?

This is your misfortune? Lol. She's bored, she wants to play a game. I'm sure it is just a phase and she will stop playing eventually. If you ask her to hold your hand, she will probably resent it. I'm assuming you want her to want to hold your hand and not do it so you won't be mad at her.

Get her a Pokemon Go Plus

She don't like you. I don't either. Are you on here to tattle? Call the Pokémon police?

LMAO at this.

I honestly thought Pokémon Go was so 2016.

A cool fad.

But if she HAS to play it while out walking w/you, then she is a true gamer.
Or addict.
Take your pick.

I advise work out a compromise.

Ask your wifey to alternate playing the game every other walk.

This is 100% fair.
If she refuses, then I am quite sure there are some support groups for spouses of game addicts.

The most surprising thing about this post is that people still play Pokémon go.
