Those of you who love what you do...what is your work?

I've been reading the thread about wanting to work and it seems that so many of you love your jobs. I'm very curious to know what people do.

I liked being a designer. I love being a dance teacher. But I am doing both.

My husband does. Coincidentally he's also an economist.

DH also loves his job. He is an NMT, studying to be an acupuncturist and teaches martial arts.

Do women "love" childbirth, pregnancy, having to conform to standards of external beauty, competing for male attention, and being the only competent adult in the household? Stop whining, Dad, and enjoy a world that's set up to be your personal playground. If you can make money, you can find women to take care of everything else.

Commercial real estate - interesting, ever-changing (not always in a good way lol), and the hours are pretty flexible.

I'm a researcher, coordinating large-scale surveys for the federal government.

I was an HR Director at an accounting firm in Bethesda and I loved it. I am now a SAHM and I love it even more.

I work as a government lawyer and do love my job. A big reason for that is that I work reasonable hours, make a decent salary, have a lot of autonomy and am appreciated. I imagine I could like just about any job that offered me these things.

Another govt lawyer here...I would say I very very very much like my job...b/c I am inherently a lazy person, I could only LOVE winning the lotteryy and travelling the world, but I digress....I echo the same reasons given above, plus I work from home 50% of the time and my job is very low stress...no clients, no phone calls, no putting out fires, and also no travel, which is perfect for me b/c I have a child at home and a husband who travels a lot.

You must be at SEC. It's not a bad salary at most $150K, but if I was a lawyer I'm not sure I would work for federal government.

Another economist here - I also love my job.
