Agree. Also none of Bloomingdale is inbound for Seaton since the boundaries changed. PP cannot be both a Bloomingdale resident and in bound for Seaton. My guess is that she lives in Truxton Circle very close to Bloomingdale. |

PK3, renting on Capitol Hill but planning to move depending on where/if we get into a school:
1. Breakthrough 2. Shining Stars 3. Lee 4. Peabody (IB) 5. Van Ness 6. Tyler 7. Miner 8. Seaton 9. Garrison 10. J.O. Wilson 11. Langley 12. WEDJ |
You will get into Breakthrough-- is this your final order? |
Good! That's the plan.

You got me People haven't heard of Truxton Circle so I usually just say Bloomingdale. The reason for Cleveland is that it's equally as convenient with our commutes, and yes indeed dual language is our #1 priority. If we enroll in Cleveland and end up not liking it, we can more easily bail for Seaton than vice versa.

Im curious why you put Breakthrough over Shining Stars or Lee? was location the biggest issue? the lack of outdoor space and that bleak building pushed us to put it closer to the bottom of our list and we want montessori. |

Yeah, same here. I was going to rank it high because of convenient commute and promising school until I found out about the lack of outdoor space and saw the building and the block... We have it second to last now, even after an unpopular DCPS. |

DCB - walking distance - immersion - DCI

First reason because I just really think Montessori would work well for my kid, I was impressed by the presentation and the leadership at an open house, and thought it would be a lot easier to get in here the first year than SSMA or Lee. Second reason was location, since Lee's likely moving next year and at the open house they mentioned that one of the places they had been considering was Woodridge...so it could be great for the first year and then super inconvenient again. And the SSMA location looked like it still wasn't 100% set in stone so Breakthrough just seemed like more of a sure thing. They have a five-year lease (though they did not rule out moving out early if they needed to). Of course outdoor space would be ideal, but I feel like the Breakthrough leadership addressed that in the open house and it was clear they were looking for solutions, in part because small children and in part because Montessori method. Also just my kid, while she of course loves playing outside, isn't so high energy that she needs tons of playground time a day. I'm sure whatever walking around the block/running around the gym/other solutions that Breakthrough puts together would suffice for her. |

Just saying: I live in Bloomingdale and am IB for Seaton. South of RI, but north of FL. |
Anyone know for sure whether they're having a second PK3 class next year? |
Welcome to Hearst. |
