Poor reno job along with the neighborhood.

You and I have very different ideas of what the word "staging" means. That is putting some furniture in an otherwise empty house to provide scale for pictures. |
Oooh, thanks for posting this. I've been driving by it fr months and wondering what they did on the inside. |
I don't get it. A million for Petworth? Nuts! |
Another flip. |
Thanks OP--this gave me a good laugh! These idiot "flippers" should have saved some $$ to have proper staging done of the home. It is so worth the investment. That house doesn't give a prospective buyer a warm and friendly feeling. Instead it feels like an empty house with rag tag IKEA and garage sale furniture--not eclectic, but pathetic. |
That's not staging. |
And a Target towel in the bathroom. |
I have a million dollar house and ikea furniture. Sadly, a million dollar house around here ain't what it used to be. |
+1 so true. |
House poor perhaps? |
Actually, this wasn't a flip. It's new build. And this is not true staging. It's putting some leftover furniture in it. Probably would have been better without it. The staging is crazy sucky! |
NP here. We have a house in Columbia Heights that could easily get 1M. And we have Ikea furniture. But there's no way we're house poor. We're just middle class folks who got in at the right time and are living in a neighborhood whose prices are crazy. |
Jealous and judgmental perhaps? |
I live in Bethesda and have small children. My house is $1M+ as are all the homes in this neighborhood and most of us have at least one ikea sofa if not entire rooms full of ikea furniture. Not bc we're house poor but bc it's just practical. And like PP said, a $1-1.5M home is an average 3-4 bedroom house. Not a palace worthy of custom furn...esp with toddlers. |
