By your argument, we could say nothing about any public figure because they are someone's child! When you put yourself on the public stage, you open yourself up to commentary. I am OP and I have said nothing about her personally but I do find her skating to be boring, ugly and totally ungraceful.

I agree PP/OP. I think figure skating as an olympic sport is weird because it is based on judge scored. I feel this way about other sports that are judge panel based.

"She is the 2012 Four Continents champion, 2012 Grand Prix Final silver medalist, 2012 Skate America champion, 2012 and 2013 Trophée Eric Bompard champion, 2012 and 2013 U.S. national champion. Her highest World Championship placement is fourth in 2012."

She was the one who gave the US the 3 spots with her placement at Worlds. While I agree her selection to the team is controversial, to say she sucks is ridiculous and not backed up by facts.

Why does NBC only feature Gracie and Ashley? Pollina was 2nd in nationals and they say nothing about her.

PP, I think you are mistaken that everyone who dislikes her skating on this thread was a former competitor. I am not. I am just a random viewer who feels her selection was unfair and her skating is not up to par. To the PP who said her short vindicated her, uh, not really, what was she 8th?

She has posted many times in this thread and her tone, writong style and word choice are unmistakable.

I was responding to the loster who is clearly a kid who knows Ashley and has an ax to grind.

The "hopeful" who was cut was Mirai Nagasu. She was 4th at the 2010 Winter Olympics and is a great skater. Nagasu was 3rd at the US National Championships. She was the only person not to fall or make an error. Wagner fell twice. Nagasu should be in Sochi, not Wagner.

I will not watch Women's Skating this year. Such BS.

I am OP and 8:09 but not the one calling her names. My choice of "sucks" as a thread title was a bit juvenile but I meant her skating, not a personal attack.
