Slate Article linkhttp://www.slate.com/articles/double_x/doublex/2013/08/miley_cyrus_vma_performance_white_appropriation_of_black_bodies.html

To celebrate herself, Miley Cyrus used other women’s bodies as a joke—women who look like me.

Yes it is honey. It's been around for a long time in the black community.

I like that this is a first person account of what it's like to be objectified, I've read several more theoretical pieces.

Pretty interesting article - I heard an NPR segment on this today but it wasn't half as illuminating.

I'm a white female. haven't read the article, but when I saw Miley smack that woman's ass I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Maybe at least we can get a good dialog going here, especially because the popular brand of feminism seems to so often exclude women of color. It's f'ed up.

LOL. Slate.

Yea...Miley Cyrus has more street cred than anyone here and I doubt she gives a shit about this article.

That author of that piece should watch some Brooke Candy videos if she wants to get really pissed and make 75 cents a word from Slate. Miley is like Amy Grant compared to Brooke Candy.

You proudly proclaim "rights" to twerkin and then complain about be objectified one sentence later. There is really something f'd up about that. Have your twerkin, "honey", cause not self-respecting female is going to "objectify" herself that way.
