If you think you are the oldest person on here, post your age

Have any of you over 40 expectant moms found any good social or playdate or mom's groups for the over 40 crowd? I know there are many of us in DC, but no one seems to know how to find each other.

I felt so young in this area when I gave birth to my first child at 29. For my second child, I was 32 when I gave birth. We're still young for this area. I've had someone mistake me for the nanny before.

I had twins at 54.

this happened to me all the time with #1. she was her father's child - which means the light hair and bright blue eyes threw everyone off. I was asked this question frequently well into her toddler years.

I have a bigger age gap. I was 27 when no.1 was born. I'll be 39 when no.2 is born. I had secondary infertility, no fertility help.

Hey well, I waited for about 5 years after DC before we really wanted another--was busy building my career. Then for two years I thought I was making too much money and acquired a gambling problem. Because of that, DH was withholding. Finally got on the wagon for that and DH still wouldn't work with me (he was still mad). Finally I got serious, DH got serious and $40,000 later got pregnant naturally (that was the surprise!)

Best of luck to you too!! I'm so happy. I hope you are too!

again, wow. glad you and your husband came through the troubles. my father had a gambling problem when I was a middle schooler and my parents almost divorced. I think the road back was long, but they just celebrated their 41st anniversary on monday.

We're excited for a second. Wish we hadn't waited so long to do the IUI, and apprehensive about the reaction we're going to get from family and friends re: age gap, my age, etc. Money is going to be tight, but we'll make it work. Also, terrified I might be as sick or sicker than I was with #1 very shortly (only 6 weeks along). So, somewhat mixed emotion at this moment, but once we get through that when we announce the pregnancy in a few weeks, I think it will be all excitement.

did you seek out a diagnosis, at least? we got diagnosed 2 years ago - of course, it was "unexplained" which is basically "we have no effing clue what is preventing you from getting knocked up"

And apparently our issue was that my first pregnancy made a mess of my insides, making the path to my now-inverted uterus difficult to navigate. And I didn't even deliver vaginally, so why THAT was all twisty/turny/screwy is a complete mystery

Stupid body.

This never happened to me. I had my kids when I was 30 and 32. Where do you live that this is young? I'm in Montgomery County.

43 and 23 weeks pregnant with my first!!

So excited. The pregnancy has been a breeze so far - no sickness, little fatigue at the beginning. I feel and look great! I am in Fairfax County also (Annandale) and would be very interested in social/playdate/mom's groups for the over 40 crowd.

Same for me! I was 28 when I had my first and 30 when I had my second and I have felt like one of the youngest parents in their preschool by far. I am now pregnant with #3 and am 33. Still feel pretty young, comparatively. But only in DC. Compared to other friends in other parts of the country, I do not feel young at all.
