Someone gave this to me and it is delicious and I'll pass it along. This is for pork barbeque, but you can also use chicken or beef. Just put the meat of your choice, with the barbeque sauce of your choice, in the crock pot on low and let it cook until it comes off the bone (4-5hours). This tastes just like pit barbeque and I am from the south and know what genuine barbeque taste like. Bon appetit! |
Do you have to add water so the BBQ sauce doesn't burn? |
Q:I guess this is a question for all sides, but why do people tend to not take bisexuality seriously?
A: I think it is because for so many people there is no middle ground, so it seems foreign to them. I know and love both bisexual men and women. I would consider myself "queer" because I seem to be attracted to femininity in both men and women. This has never served me well as those men tended to be attracted to men. And not to get too Gender Studies 202 on you but while I feel a level of attraction to feminine men (think Alan Cumming) I do not feel emotional love toward them, just women. |
Were you abused as a child and did this cause your lesbianism |
Q:not the other PP but you are, obviously, a lovely person and I can't imagine why anyone would not want to be friends.
I once worked with a man once who was so paranoid about an openly gay colleague making a pass at him that he came to my office (HR) several times to tell me about his fears. For all I know, he may have been a closet gay but his fears were real. Have you encountered any straight women who are terrified that you might be interested in them and they shy away from you. A: Thank you, that's very sweet to say. When I first came out in my late teens I had some of that reaction you describe. I actually told one of my friends I wasn't attracted to her and she got pretty offended. Point being, I am attracted to some women not all women , and I do not pursue anyone who isn't interested (or anyone at all anymore). |
Oops, sorry, yes you do add about a cup of water (she used beer) but the sauce also keeps it moist here and check it periodically to make sure that it isn't burning. Also, this freezes beautifully. |
Q: Were you abused as a child and did this cause your lesbianism
A: No, I was not, and am thankful for that fact. If sexual abuse caused homosexuality there would be a lot more gay people. Plenty of straight women have suffered abuse, unfortunately. I personally believe there is a gene that codes for homosexuality. I don't pretend to know how it gets flipped on if that's the right way to think about it. In my family I have a gay aunt one generation above me and a gay uncle one generation above her. I have straight siblings but my wife also has a gay sibling. |
Also, I live BBQ and am totally trying that crock pot recipe. |
What was your family upbringing, divorces, normal, poor, rich etc |
Q: What was your family upbringing, divorces, normal, poor, rich etc
A: Pretty standard. We were blue collar- my dad farmed and then worked a factory type job. My mom was a SAHM until I was in middle school. My parents divorced when I was 18. We did not have a lot of money. |
Sorry if this was asked and I missed it, but how old were you when you "knew" and how old when you came out? |
Did you get fired for saying that? |
Have you ever had a boyfriend? How old were you when you had a girlfriend? |

I work at a Christian preschool and I have met a few gay couples when on playground with my son. As soon as I mention that I work at a christian school I get then sense that they are pulling back. I am not sure how to respond to this. Also as a side note my mom came out a few years ago but I was not raised my gay parents (they got divorced when I was 17). I guess my question is "what's the best way to say I'm Christian but not homophobic?".
Oh and I live near the Arlington UU church too. Maybe I'll see you one at a playground ![]() |
