It'll be interesting to see who tries to fill those shoes! |
Not resigned, retired after 21 years service. She is only the 4th Head in the school's history. |
We are very sad to see her retire. I hate the corporate types sending out this information on the night before the school is closed for a professional day and on a four day weekend. I know there is no perfect time, but I hate when they do this. HATE, HATE, HATE THIS NEWS.
Sad Beauvoir family |
Whoa.... sorry for your sadness, but if Paula C has a fond place in your heart, perhaps she deserves support from the Beauvoir family that expresses confidence and optimism for her and the Beauvoir's future. Pardon me, but why do you H H H this news? |
I am going to assert an "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all" rule for this thread. The head of school is easily identifiable. As such, it is unfair for posters to criticize her anonymously. If you would like to establish your identify in a verifiable manner, then you would be welcome to offer any criticism you would like. But, given the history of posts regarding Beauvoir, anonymous posters are going to have to be nice.

Thank, Jeff! PP, can I ask what you mean when you say "when they do THIS"? What is THIS referring to - the way they communicate with families? Totally appreciate that you're sad she's leaving, but you sort of sound like something here is a pattern? Tell me if I'm wrong, just curious. |
Why is it okay for people to express their true opinions about people who are clearly identifiable in other threads? I'm not saying that I think it's okay for people to come on here and bash the head of school at Beauvoir, but people bash others on these threads and those posts aren't removed. It seems like a double-standard. Just sayin'. |
Yep, it's a double standard. You win a blender. |
It's just what I've always wanted. Thanks! |
Most in the know Beauvoir families are happy for Paula that she and her husband who retired from his Head of School position at another highly respected DC Private a couple years ago will now be able to enjoy their retirement . It is not a shock to anyone, though she has done great things for and with the school and she will be missed. as for 18 months notice, it was more like 5 years advance notice and 18 months official notice. That is class. |
Agreed, it is well done to give parents and prospective parents the news this far in advance. |
What difference would it have made if this announcement was made on some random Tuesday vs. before a long weekend? Was someone ready to go stomping in and try to change her mind?
Kudos to this head for allowing the school a nice length of time to find a replacement. I'm sure she will be missed but this allows her a full year to close up loose ends and leave her successor a strong foundation. I think it's classy. |
Agree, why is the timing such a big deal? I am sad about Paula leaving, too, but not surprised. She has done so much good for the school; I imagine she feels that her work is done, and she certainly deserves to move onto something new or just enjoy her retirement. I am not worried for the future of the school. Paula will be leaving it in the best possible shape, and I'm sure the Board will have outstanding candidates to choose from. |
