Hey, crazy lady: get off the internet. |
My child has gone to Beauvoir since Pre-K. He missed just 2 questions on the Math section of the ERB. He did not take Kumon , nor has he even been tutored, or gone to math camp. I do not look at his homework coming or going, simply initial where he asks me to. Seems the school is educating my child just fine. Like many schools, Beauvoir continually updates and adds to its curriculum as they did with math a few years ago. |
Going to try again to say that she should have retired in the wake of the pedophile and shown REAL leadership. |
My DC is an alum. Sadly, when we think of Beauvoir, Eric T, the homicidal Cathedral police officer, and his ex-lover, a first grade teacher at the school come to mind. So much going on right under her nose.
End of that year, was a better time to resign. I guess the goal was to hit the 20-year retirement mark. |
This is completely unfair. Our child was at the school at the time and knew all 3 individuals of these individuals. Paula handled it just fine. I know many people kept asking the school for info on these events, but these events were being investigated by the police. And police investigations take time, and, for law enforcement reasons, the school was not and should not have been kept updated on every bit of info. In terms of Eric T, B did exactly what PennState did not do. B reported it immediately to the police, and allowed the police to handle it from there. |
Well...didn't she tell this same Cathedral police officer who later killed the first grade teacher to escort Eric T off the grounds? How many years has Eric been on the run since that decision was made? I guess this is what you mean by her handling it just fine. |
Wow, how dumb. I wish the Beauvoir head a happy retirement where she doesn't have to be second-guessed by nutjobs. I think it's actually pretty extraordinary how quickly B seems to have bounced back from two terrible incidents -- seems to say a lot about the administration. |
How dumb? Nutjobs? I don't think so, just stating the obvious. What's up with your use of the word seems? Good riddance, may she enjoy her time in Maine. |
|
Let's try it again, as it SEEMS not to have worked before. You SEEM to be a mean-spirited shrew. Perhaps you are delightful optimist who is a ray of sparkling light to all in your community, but that possibility SEEMS dubious. |
Amen, I'm not the only anonymous one -- and I am not a nut job. People who believe everything that a school tells them should look in the mirror.
Beauvoir did NOT call the police immediately as stated above, we have been through this on other threads, many times already. Don't think that, please, and don't believe it. They had the cathedral police office (not the same thing) escort him off the grounds and he stayed in DC -- went to several Beauvoir family's houses (all of whom were NOT informed by Beauvoir of any trouble or danger to their kids until the school lawyered and PR firmed it up and issues a press release on Friday), hung out with one family until wee hours of the night when he drove off to Indiana. That was a Monday and police were not called until at least Wednesday...even the room (the "crime scene") was messed up by the school for the police to investigate properly. On Wednesday, a parent in the class was able to track him down still...he was also in touch with families through Wednesday/Thursday. I have spoken at length to the FBI and the US DA's office. No one there believes Beauvoir handled it properly. And yes, it is going on FOUR years since Toth has been evading the authorities. Paula never followed up at all with our class and the kids most affected. Sure, that first week she promised food and hospitality (never came), and the school would pay for an initial visit to a therapist (usually free anyway), and then after that never heard from her again. I may be a bit bitter, but I am not a nut job. Have a great life in Maine Paula, and don't worry about our kids -- they are (mostly) fine despite what happened under your watch. |
Yes, you do sound bitter (more than "a bit," actually). But at least you're a former Beauvoir parent and formed your opinions on your own family's experience. And you're not trying to drag the sad case of the PECF policeman's murder/suicide into the Toth case. So, I'd agree -- you're bitter but not crazy. |
I'm the "crazy" former parent you are referring to. The homicidal PECF actually was the one told by the head to escort Toth off of school property and two months later he committed the murder-suicide. I hope his harassment of that teacher wasn't reported to the head and nothing was done about it. I'm relieved my son's exposure to Toth was minimal. He wasn't one of the boys who was invited regularly to sit on his lap. Call me crazy, nutjob or whatever the hell you want. |
Umm . . . yep, still think you're crazy. |
yes, one of the many security guards hired by the Episcopal Cathedral Foundation that oversees all schools( not specifically hired by the Beauvoir Head) passed a security back ground check in that he had no criminal record in all his years as an NYC police officer. He did, unfortunately, develop an obsessive relationship with another adult he met at work. As a security officer at the school he was warm, kind and welcoming. His character, like all of ours, was not one dimensional. Had both returned to the school in the fall and a restraining order was in place by the teacher against the security guard, the school would have had to act accordingly. Time and events intervened and the school was never a part of any procedural event. Your seizing on something that happened 4 years ago when the Head was on sabatical and bringing it up in this context, suggests that you have an AX to grind and, your choice to complain anon in a public forum in which the Head is named is cowardly. State your full name please and stand behind your words or don't post. My guess is that you will not meet this challenge. Odd then, that in your post you accuse others of not rising to theirs. |
