Side Parts

Oh look, it's the "sweetie" poster, dripping with condescension and a lack of fashion knowledge -- as always.

It’s so frustrating as a middle-age person because instead of looking like you are bucking trends (like a young person looks like when they take the road less traveled), as a Middle aged mom you just look out of touch, out of date, etc.

It would be nice not to care, but I kind of do. I remember thinking my mom looked hopelessly out of date, and I thought “how can she be so clueless?”

I'm sure this is apparent.

Nope.

But they didn't. Don't be racist.

The zigzag part is the only reasonable option with my curly hair. My daughter did a center part on me and laughed so hard that she never tried it again.

Oh man.

Memories!

I wore mine in a side part for years, and I guess it never really flattered me but I didn't know it. Last year I splurged on a celebrity hair stylist who told me, "never ever wear your hair in a side part again". I have a small but prominent widow's peak, and I guess the middle part does look better with it.

Definitely didn't go away for me. Curly hair with cowlicks? No center part happening here. Messy side part for life.

I’ve always thought that the people who have the hardest timing with aging are the ones who were meanest to older people in their youth.

Same here. Fighting this natural part has never worked out well for me. A middle part looks awful on me.

A middle part doesn't look good on most people.

My hair won't part in the middle. It just flips back to my natural side part.

Which celebrity stylist? Around here? I need a splurge.
