| CWC downtown isn’t taking patients due before April. Their other office in Bethesda is no longer delivering at sibley. |
All I know is that this is why my OB stopped delivering. She also said that Sibley went to crap after Hopkins took over. Rich women get a lot of prenatal care here, but they are also very quick to sue if anything is wrong with their precious baby and they will blame the OB. |
DP at CWC - I think technically they marked down the first doctor I had an appointment with as my "primary" but I've just rotated around for all of my appointments. Once my c-section was scheduled and I knew who would be performing it, I made sure to schedule my last appointment with her as well so I'd get any questions out of the way and be more than just a chart for her. One thing to watch out for is that according to a post on this board, at least one of the CWC practices is switching away from delivering at Sibley. I'm at the downtown DC office on L street and delivering at Sibley. I've only seen women there - both for my visits and just in general (I've never seen a male doctor or nurse or lab tech in the halls). |

Well, the Foxhall patient portal is now down (at least for me - it says "Please be advised we are currently experiencing issues that may cause delays or unexpected failures when accessing MyHealthRecord"), and when I called the front desk to ask about transferring my records to a potential new OB, they said they can't guarantee when the records will be sent because there are so many people needing records transferred. Because I'm 25 weeks already, the new OBs I'm looking into won't accept me until they review my medical record. So I guess this will be a bit of a process to try to get in somewhere.
Really annoying. |
I’m having the same issue with the portal and needing medical records before practices will accept me. This is such a messed up situation. I was also told at my first appointment Beckerman was stopping with the Jan 20 cut off, but was reassured “all other practicing OBs will continue with their OB practice after January” |
| In the same situation. Does anyone have experiences with RHJ or Dr. Desouza? These are the other two providers besides Bloom and CWC that Foxhall recommended. |
I went to rhj from 2014-2020...my dr. Was opposite of useless during preconception appointments ( contradicted everything the fertility dr I saw in 2017 for egg freezing said, like don't go off pill until right before trying as that's when most fertile, or make sure tsh is under 2... mine wasn't and she wouldn't treat it so I switched to GW ( delivered in 2022 and 23 weeks along with another). Rhj was also impossible to communicate with Dr ( very long phone waits, long waits in office, etc). May have proved since they have new management now but I don't regret leaving |
| I am a patient of Dr Bren’s and did not get a call in advance like Dr Greene’s patients. Wish she had told me at my anatomy scan last Friday! Ended up going with Desouza because he had good reviews. What a mess. Also talked to the records person at Foxhall today, who told me to email my records request since the portal was down. |
lol when I emailed the request (at their instruction) to the email address the Foxhall front desk person gave me, the records person wrote back and said it was a HIPAA violation to send records via email, and they could only send the records via the portal. The doc office Dr. Green referred me to will only accept the records via email. As of now, the Foxhall records person just hasn’t replied to me at all. Sigh. |
|
I know Dr Messenger left. Dr Bren saw me earlier this month but I am 50+.
I always print or print to file anything from portals so I have copies. I cannot recommend RHJ in Virginia. |
| Virginia Hospital Center is not that far away, lots of great practices deliver there. There is also GWU. Sibley is not all that. |
|
I got the email yesterday but thought it was spam, and got a letter in the mail. I saw Dr. Lightfoote two weeks ago for a 6 week appt, and she mentioned there isn't much rotating with so few doctors. When I called to make an appt, they said they weren't taking new patients, but then realized I was an existing one and scheduled me. I have had 3 kids there, but was already debating leaving since my old primary Dr. Davis left last year.
Any recs on OBs the deliver at Holy Cross? I was fine going to Sibley bc of Foxhall, but HC is so much closer. I feel for everyone that's much further along, this is crappy. |
I agree. Are they at least trying to find you a new doctor? Are they referring people out? |
They are obligated by law to give you access to your records. Call them back and demand they snail mail it to you or print it out and let you pick it up. Then scan them in yourself and email it to the new practice. |
RUN from RHJ. I had an absolutely horrible experience (was essentially misdiagnosed when I clearly had fibroids and at the same time they left a detailed message w/ someone else's name and very detailed info on my vm and messed up my billing). I switched from them to CWC and was very happy if that is an option? |
