Parents with Older Teens/Adults

I am just curious if your older kiddos/adults followed their same growth curve till now? Again, I am only curious. Or was the double the height at 2 accurate?

I don't know their heights at 2. But DS was a large baby then settled down to about the 50th percentile all through childhood. Then had a huge growth spurt late in HS and is now 6'2". Tallest person in the whole family, including uncles and cousins.

DD was always tall and the growth chart predicted 5'8". But got her period early (like Mom) and stopped at 5"6" (same as Mom)

My kids' growth charts were consistent from beginning to end: always small, no surprises

Just curious, what were their percentiles on the growth chart?

Yes, I heard puberty affects the growth curve sometimes depending if it was early or late.

Consistent all the way. When he was two the pediatrician looked at his measurement and said “okay, so he should be about…6’5”?” Then looked at us and shook his head and said “these things aren’t always accurate. He’s 17 and 6’5”. He’s always been 99th percentile for height.

My daughter was 50th percentile in height from birth until about 8 or 9 years old; then slipped to 40th/30th percentile for a few years (5 feet, 5-1 for a while) . . . then shot up to 5-6 at 14 - which is 80th percentile, apparently. I think she may end up being about 5-7 (she is 15 and only recently got her period). Her dad is 6-2 and I am 5-5.

My oldest (16.5) was above average height (60-75th percentile fairly consistently from babyhood on) but despite getting her period at 13.5 is only 5’4”. Which I think is a bit below average?

Yes. Tiny as a baby. 25-30% through toddler years. Now a fully grown teen and 5’1” (female)

Mine is 25%ile for height now that she is approaching adult height, but during most of childhood was more like 5-10%ile

No idea - I didn't really pay attention.

My dd was tiny then and is tiny now, didn't quite make it to 5 feet. Ds is taller than expected.

Both my boys are exactly 2x their height at 2 years old. Its uncanny.

Mine were pretty consistent. DD2 is slightly taller than DD1, and this was true for their same height/same age charts as a child. Both are taller than I am, but my husband is tall.
