| Mine didn’t. My older son was a small child, 5th-10%, but his full height is 5 ft 11. I assume that’s about 75%. Considerably taller than predicted. Meanwhile my younger son was always 75% but stopped growing at 14. He is now 5 ft 9. I never expected him to be shorter than his brother but that’s apparently how it wound up. |

Doubling my boys' 24-month height would have put all three of them well over 6' and that didn't happen. They followed their growth curves until puberty and then I think genetics simply took over. Two are at 5'10" and my middle kid is about 5'8", the same height as his father.

They peaked at the 10th percentile when they were little, then settled into 5th (DS) and 3rd (DD). In line with my husband's and my short stature: DS is his father's height, and DD will probably be a little shorter than me. DH wanted his kids to get growth hormone treatment, but they did not qualify. I don't really care to be honest, otherwise I wouldn't have married a short man

Yes, I think there has to be dramatic drop in percentiles to qualify for HGH and have a deficiency. How tall are you and your husband if you do not mind me asking? |
So far my son is following his growth curve, but his height at 24 months old makes him shorter than his actual growth curve. |
| I don’t know what their heights were at 2. My kids were always at the 97-99% on those pediatrician growth charts. My daughter is at her adult height of 5’3. My teen son might still be slowly growing and is about 6 feet now. |
| 12:15 and adding that my son is the tallest in the family now. His growth spurt came at 14. DH is 5’9 |
| It seems like the double the height at 2 isn't that accurate based on what most are saying. |
No, that’s average height. Same with my daughter who got her period at 14 but that didn’t cause her to grow more. |
| I was in 3rd percentile for height and weight from about age 1 through elementary school... hit a growth spurt at 12 and finally got an appetite. Doctors predicted I would be less than five foot, I am 5.5 1/2 if I stand up super straight. |
I don’t think it is. A lot depends on family growth patterns too. My side of the family - my sisters and I as well as mom and her siblings - tend to be very tall when young. And stop early. I was 98-100th percentile height and weight as a young kid but ended up 5’8 which is tallish but not over 6 foot like I was “supposed” to be based on my age 2 height. My sisters were almost as tall when young, they are 5’4 and 5’6. |
| My DD exceeds the 100th percentile all through childhood. Got her period at age 11. If she had continued at that rate she should have topped out at 6’ but she ended growing at 5’10” |

Not for my eldest.
My oldest DD was 38" at 2 and is now 5'11" at 16. I think she is done growing and I'm pretty sure she doesn't have another 5 inches in her. |
DH 5'6" Me 5'4" |
|
I don't remember getting a prediction at 2. I do remember my son getting a predicted height of 5'9 when he was around 7 maybe? He is between 5'9 and 5'10. DD was always a little under the average and is 5'2 or 5'3. No surprises - I'm 5'4 and DH is 5'7.
