Can we stop using the words "hubby" "veggie" "yummy" "goodie" and their ilk?

So with you. I immediately discredit any post that says "hubby" because I know I couldn't possibly stand the person in real life (I'm sure they wouldn't get me, either).

How ridiculous is it when someone is talking about getting separated or something and they use the term DH? Um, is he really that dear to you anymore?

I think the terms DH, DS, DD are used on this board for a specific reason and that the poster's do not refer to their spouse's as DH in real life. It's easier than typing out son, daughter, Brian, Janie...

They are common internet acronyms, recognized universally on the web. The "Dear" has little meaning, just a way to shorten things. Same with hubby, instead of saying husband-much easier to type.

Would you prefer people to do H for husband, D for daughter, S for son, and W for wife? Would that be OK with you? At your service Miss Daisy...

I propose we stop using the word "ILK" Talk about a disgusting word.

I propose we also stop using vagina and penis just because it makes some people uncomfortable.

Could we also stop using words like "seep," "hoard," and "swarm" and "teem" to refer to illegal immigrants -- as if they were a disease or group of animals.

Could we also stop using words like "articulate," "well-spoken," "photogenic" "dynamic" and "ambitious" to refer to Obama -- when it's no surprise that a presidential candidate would be any of these things (except if he's black)

Seems to me that this is pretty low on my list of priorities, but I'll do my best.

I don't think I have heard anyone use those words, on this board, to describe what you are saying.

Sure there was talk about illegals and the fact that they are here Illegally, and criminally, but I have never heard anyone refer to a "swarm of illegals"

Don't forget, Obama has a white mama. He is biracial.

Re: Obama, how many people say Bush is NOT any of these things? And, I think very few people would say that the other candidates are as "well-spoken" or "photogenic" as Obama.

Let's see if we can get even more off the original post.

Um...I want to talk about people who stand in parking spots and say, "this spot is taken" while some car makes a U-turn two blocks away. Meanwhile I'm there with my car ready to park.

Can we stop doing that.

Hahahaha! growing up in DC, my mom would practically push me out of the car to stand in a spot while she turned around. But most of the people taking those spots were without local parking stickers. She called the police on them alot too!

Do your children refer to you as "mother", "dear mother"? Get a life.
