Unless you are 12, in which case you are not likely to be a (D.C. Urban) Mom. But anything is possible I guess. Many thanks!

While I would never say some of those things. I can guess the answer to your question, and it's "NO".
We can not control what other people say, or the words they feel is appropriate in every day conversation. |

Signing off, it's time to go nite-nite. |
You can stop using them them if they bother you so much. |
I never use the words hubby and veggie-they irritate me, too. As does the acro: DH. ugh! Yummy and goodie don't bother me too much. There are so many other words that irritate me, can't think of them. |
Bleck. Yuck!!! |
I guess my question is this: Why? Why let it bother you so much? There are so many other things in this world that are of greater importance, IMO. If it bugs you so much, don't use them, but don't try to tell others how to use their language. |
I am incredibly laid back about most things. That said, "hubby" drives me nuts. I cringe when I read it on boards, but understand that lots of people really like it because it is used a lot.
I am sure I say lots of things that irritate others. Some of them only have about four letters. ![]() |
Man, I hate it when people even use "DD" and "DS" and "DH"
gag me |
Agree with 22.38 - 'hubby' makes me cringe. You don't really hear husbands refering to their partners as 'wifey'. |
Okay, i guess this OP post falls in the 'pet peeves' file. But I can think of better things I'd rather occupy my time with. Starting now... |
I could care less what words people use to express themselves. Honestly. |
