What has happened to VAJrs? None of their teams earned bids this weekend at Regionals and none of them are even in relatively good positions to earn reallocated bids later in the season...

I believe they won the 18s, but only because Metro and Paramount weren’t there.
Jnrs is a dumpster fire, and the word is out.

How exactly is it a dumpster fire?

I'm curious about this too? I never see their club director around any more. I don't really know who is in charge there anymore. Some of their teams definitely still have some talent, but it doesn't seem like they are having much success on the court this season or in the past couple seasons.

I heard a rumor that maybe the director is handing Jrs all over the Jharred as he seems to be the front face for the club already. Former coaches and families have mentioned how it is not a good place to be. Coaches don't really get much say for who is on their team - director/Jharred decide and the coaches don't get much support. Families saw favorites get most attention and not full development for the rest. Would need those more in the know to provide better details.

Boarding a plane tomorrow for Big South. DD's team has yet to earn a bid to Chicago. Philadelphia next weekend.

Other than the bids listed above, have any others been earned by CHRVA teams? (I'd be interested in the bid tracking website, if anyone knows where to find it.)

I see that the Paramount 16s now have this "16 USA" icon when listed on the standings of the recent regional (<== link). What does that signify (since no other team across 14s, 15s, and 16s seem to have a similar designation)?

That may mean they have a bid in USA division.

The college commitments are a little underwhelming. I ask a genuine question - does playing D1 at a fairly unrecognized school help in the workplace? I have no horse in the race - our DDs both played lacrosse. Just curious.

Whose college commitments? Playing a D1 sport may confer a small advantage to those in charge of hiring (e.g., presumably D1 athletes are high-achievers, hard workers, and are good with time managements skills). However, the main benefit to playing D1 would be if the player happens to have a full athletic scholarship. If they do, then I'd imagine most families would be happy with their kid walking out of college debt free. If they are a walk-on at an unrecognized school, that's where the real analysis would have to come into play in terms of whether it's worth it.

Current JRs parent and this is not at our experience in terms of the comment "not a good place to be" and "not full development for the rest" - we are considering other clubs b/c we feel our DD isn't getting the advanced development she needs b/c the other players on the team that aren't as strong are getting more time.

I will also say that I think while Coach Jarred seems to trigger some folks, the drama/reputation around him is very exagerrated. Do other clubs have someone that leads up college recruiting (I don't believe Metro does for example but could be wrong)? The jrs director handing everything over to Jrs is news and not sure how valid vs. rumormill that is.

U14: MDJRS earned bid to Liberty division at Northeast qualifiers. VAJRS have earned bid to Freedom (seems it went first to MDJRS- 4th place at regionals but might have rejected they got a higher bid)

Just for context - open is where the best play, by a long way, National is equivalent of HS ball, American is a poor HS level and Freedom is like rec league.

How many teams get a bid? Only 12-16 teams (out of the many clubs in the area) get to play at the CHRVA bid regionals. Usually 3rd place team in CHRVA makes freedom bid. So are the other teams that don't make the regional bid championship or get a bid below rec league level?
