Brain development research study in healthy children, adolescents and young adults.

The National Institute of Mental Health is conducting a one day outpatient research study to
examine the effect of genetic and environmental factors on brain development.

You or your child may qualify if you or your child is:
• between 4 and 25 years of age.
• medically healthy.
• free of learning disabilities and psychiatric conditions.


Research study procedures include a brief physical examination, brain imaging, and tests of
learning and memory. The research study takes about 4 to 6 hours on an outpatient basis at the
NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. There is no charge for research study procedures.

Volunteers will be compensated for their participation.
Transportation assistance/reimbursement provided.

I am recruiting typically developing children from 4-8 years old for a study at NIH. Here is the info:

Purpose: The National Institute of Mental Health is conducting an outpatient study to examine genetic and environmental factors on brain development. Study involvement includes brain imaging (no radiation involved), cognitive testing, and behavior questionnaires.



Your child may qualify if he or she:

• is 4 to 8 years of age.

• is medically healthy.

• is free of learning disabilities and mental health issues.



Cost:
• Initial screening, study-related tests, and annual follow-up are provided free of charge.

Duration:
• This study requires three outpatient visits.

Location:
• NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
