We saw Dr. Sarah Chen at National Integrative Health Associates in DC. She was really thorough with my daughter - did extensive bloodwork and spent over an hour on the first visit. Not cheap but worth it for us. Hope you find someone good!
Congrats! What a great problem to have. I'd say visit both campuses one more time if possible and trust his gut. Both are incredible schools. The social connections he already made at Duke matter but Princeton's physics program is world class. Either way he can't go wrong.
I think it's less about being cagey and more about not wanting money to change the dynamic of a friendship. Once people know you have money, every interaction gets filtered through that lens. I've seen friendships ruined over assumptions about who should pay for what.
This is so dependent on the kid. My older one took to it naturally and was swimming laps by age 6. My younger one is 8 and still won't put her face in the water willingly. We just keep doing lessons every summer and try not to stress about it. They all get there eventually.
My DD loved Spirited Away and the other Studio Ghibli movies at that age. Also seconding Princess Bride - it never gets old. We recently watched Knives Out together and she was really into it.
My 11yo son is basically glued to his iPad after school. We've tried Apple Screen Time but he figured out how to get around it and honestly the constant "give me more time" requests were driving us both crazy. Looking for something that actually works without turning into a daily battle. Anyone found an app or approach that helps? He's not a bad kid, just zero self-control when it comes to YouTube and games.
