What about rich white people's affirmative action -- admissions based on athletics such as fencing, tennis, soccer, crew, sailing, lacrosse, golf, etc. etc. etc. Let's be honest, playing sports in school is great. But, do we really need it to impact college admissions? And, I can see that there is a lot of hating on black kids, particularly black kids who come from wealthy parents. But, do you really think that their experience in life is the same as white kids' experiences? C'mon, get real.
I would argue that during the period when affirmative action has been in place -- roughly since the late 60s -- we have seen the US prosper above and beyond any other country in the world. Period. I'm not saying that this is because of affirmative action, but affirmative action certainly hasn't held us back. Get a grip wealthy white parents, your kids will be fine. You will help them get jobs when they graduate by using your connections. You will help them buy their first home by giving them seed money for the down payment. Calm down. It's going to be ok. If your kid is good enough to get into an Ivy, then they would have gotten into some top 25 school. If they didn't, there is a reason other than affirmative action.
