Is your son joining DCU this season or just asking in general?

I looked into Laurel Lions and as far as a I can tell, despite their name, they are based in Potomac - https://www.thelionssoccer.com/.

Thanks. I actually contacted Takoma Park Friends United and they said they don't have a 2010 team. Is Takoma Park Grasp a different club than Takoma Park Friends United?

Yes, Lauren Lions trains primarily in Rockville area.

I think another poster mentioned, Takoma Park Friends and GraspYouth are different. You can get the coach's phone # and email here. http://www.ncsl-soccer.com/_element_display/#%2F80738%2Fteams%2F109711683%2F100409891-109711784%2FTEAM.html%3Frnd%3D1687978758398

Coach Sona is really good and an amazing teacher. I wished we were closer to DC. We couldn't make the commute work but we have nothing but positive things to say about his coaching style.

You should look into Graspyouth soccer with Coach Sona. They train at Shepherd Park in DC.
As the PP indicated, it depends on what your child needs are. If it is individual technical skills (ball control, dribbling, etc.), a lot of coaches do private lessons on the side. Pricing aligns with PP -- generally around 50-80/hour. if your child needs to work on defending or other skills where you will need a few more individuals/team, you can check with your coach to see if your child can train with another team within the club to get more training time. If your child needs to work on speed and agility, there are coaches in the area that works specifically on that as well.

My son's team has played against Coppermine kids and they are very strong! The stronger younger kids play up! For example, the 2012 kids play against 2011 kids and top of their league.
I saw this post on Instagram and figure I would share this here if any boys in the Montgomery County/Rockville area is looking for tryouts.

Anyone would like to share their tryout experience? Which club, age group, overall feedback of the club/team, will your child accept/reject offer?

Yes he is 2015 (late bday). Do you know of names of local teams to look into? Or where can I find that info

You should also check out Graspyouth with Coach Sona Walla in the Takoma Park area. Coach Sona specializes in younger kids. His email is in the link below.

Has anyone been successful recruited by DC United via their Talent Center ID / Tryout events? Attended the event last weekend and received an email that say "... we are planning to come out and see you play this spring.". Do they say that to all participants and what are the odds DC United actually come out to watch a game?
