Too late for Spring Soccer?

Is it too late to sign 7yo to a team this spring? We’ve been previously in community leagues with volunteer coaches but he’s expressed desire to take soccer seriously and I think he could benefit from actual coaching. We live in Takoma Park, MD. Any tips, suggested pathways for us to take?

Not too late. Check out Takoma park. They generally have a variety of competitive teams at multiple levels. I don't know if they have u8 but possibly he can play up to u9 for a team if not. Email the coach listed here:

Is he a 2015? I assume so. It sounds like you want him to play travel soccer. Tryouts will be late spring for the fall season. He could play ref for the spring, or you could reach out to clubs about having him okay up with the 2014s for the spring.

Yes he is 2015 (late bday). Do you know of names of local teams to look into? Or where can I find that info
