Hello Everyone! OP here --- I just want to thank everyone for taking the time to post.
We literally just moved here from NYC where the cut off is December. This came up b/c I've been researching dates re: my 4 year old son.
I've recently be thinking about holding my 4 year old back (June baby) from entering kindergarten this Fall. In his current preschool (here in No VA) he's the youngest in his class where as in NYC he was in the middle and Ive noticed how much younger he behaves in class, so it's been stressful deciding if he's ready.
My daughter who is the Oct baby is only 2.5 at this point, and when I realized she would enter as a 5 almost 6 year old I was upset b/c I think she will be bored (opposite of my son) but guess there isn't much we can do.
Hello everyone - My daughter is an October 6 birthday. Is there any way for her to start school at 4 years old?? Anyone have experience with little ones having birthdays right around the cut off?
We found a house we liked, that doesn't require too much work, in a good school district. It's been challenging, we have been searching for months and I would have loved to have more of a neighborhood feel like vienna or GF but we were outbid each time we liked a property.
I forgot to add one question: looking for a toddler program/preschool for my 2.5 year old daughter in the area as well - just something 2 or 3 days a week?
Hello! We are moving to Oakton soon from NYC. We have two young children 4 and 2. It's been a transition to say the least and we are feeling a bit lonely and lost.
We would love to start meeting other young families from the area and having our kids socialize and make new friends. We are wondering where we should consider summer camps, soccer, swim, ballet? Best parks to play in for young kids.
Our son will be attending Flint Hill Elementary in the Fall, any way to reach out to local parents with kids in the same class year?
Any websites, facebook groups, list serves you recommend for updates on events or play groups in the area?
