Hi cmkeough,
Thank you for your input. I delivered on the same day! -- Monday at 3PM. Yes, I was at the breast feeding class -- maybe we were in the same one. I will be interested to hear what you think about the pump. Is everything going well? I send congratulations and wish you all the best!
I just delivered my first baby a week ago at Sibley. Breast feeding is going well overall, but I need to get a breast pump and was looking online at all the different ones available at Sibley and at the Breastfeedding Center on K Street. I would be grateful for any feedback on different breast pumps as I'm going to try to buy one within the next week. I probably won't use it everyday, but will use it fairly often, I think. Thanks for any advice!
When I learned I was pregnant last spring, I had gone to Dr. Picco for my annual exams twice and was actually looking for another OB-GYN because of the rushed manner and bad experiences with the staff and practice. I experienced no collaborative or caring approach. So, when I got pregnant, I was a bit worried because I didn't know if I should change at that point and being new to D.C. didn't have any idea where to go. I went to Dr. Thomas Pinckert for a CVS test and then for monthly sonograms. He was so absolutely excellent -- as was his entire staff. I asked the geneticist there about switching to another OB, and she assured me that the Capital Womens Care was a really good practice. I decided to stay at Capital Womens Care because I was actually seeing Dr. Pinckert more and he took a great deal of time with me and answered every question I needed to know. Dr. Picco has been more engaged with me as a patient as my pregnancy progressed. For me, this has worked fine, but I might change when I am through with the pregnancy. I also see that the office operations have improved since the first of the year. Still, I do caution people about the practice.
Dr. Thomas Pinckert is absolutely one of the best doctors I have ever had the privilege of seeing. I am due to deliver my baby Feb. 1 and have seen him monthly since last August for a CVS test, monthly sonograms, and now weekly tests prior to delivery. I was referred to him by my OBGYN because I am 45 and having my first baby. The whole staff is absolutely wonderful and supportive - as others have said, there is usually no wait at all, but most importantly, the care received is superb. Dr. Pinckert combines his national reputation in his field with one fofthe best bed-side manners I have ever encountered. My only wish is that he could be my regular OB-GYN! Don't hesitate -- go to him!
