Midsize University with Good Business School and Traditional Campus Feel (not in South)

Anonymous
My HS junior is in top 10% of class, 4.4 GPA (weighted), good rigor in HS courses, strong service/sports/extracurriculars. Hasn't taken SATs yet, but based on PSAT, expect 1300s, maybe 1400s. Interested in business/finance and wants to go to school somewhere with 4 seasons and not in the south or Pacific NW (hates hot weather). Wants to study business (finance, potentially). Likes the feel of schools with confined campus vs urban campus. Wants midsize school - 5-15K students. Outside of VA, looking at Villanova, BC, Northeastern. Cornell would be a reach.

What other schools should be on the list?

Check out Bentley University in Waltham, MA outside of Boston. Business is what they do. https://www.bentley.edu/

I know you said no to south, but Elon and U of Miami would fit as safeties. Lehigh would be a great match.

Honestly as a Virginia resident with those stats and interests I would try to get into the McIntire school at UVa.

1300's? Prob not.

Miami is the right fit except for it being in the south, but Miami is more of a mixed political environment if that is the issue with south.

St. Joeseph's in Philadelphia. Villinova might be a stretch.

Lehigh in PA! I liked the campus, though my kid did not. Their business, finance, and accounting offerings are pretty decent.

Providence College in RI.

Will need higher SAT 1450 minimum, preferably 1500
