Help me settle a debate. How do you feel when your phone charge goes under 80%? A. Plug it in immediately B. I’m okay with anything from 60-40%. Then I start looking for a charger. C. Eh it’s fine. I’ll plug it in before it drops to 3% D. I cannot answer this question because my phone is dead. Also I lost it because I can’t call it to find it. E. Other (please specify) Is there an ideal charge amount you feel comfortable with? Does your partner share your charging % habits, or is it a source of constant conflict in your relationship? |
| Under 80%? Ahahahahaaahaa |
|
80%? No, it definitely doesn't bother me.
C. I think it bothers me when it's at about 10% and I have to use it for a conference call. I'm also that person with 1,000 unread emails in their inbox, FWIW. |
| How I "feel" is not a debate. Do whatever makes you happy. As for what's best for battery, don't let it go below 20% and don't overcharge (but people differ on this one). |
This is also me. |
|
No. When I plug it in depends on the circumstance, but if I'm just at home/the office and am not going anywhere soon - it has to get down to around 30% before I plug it in.
I keep a meticulous inbox. |
|
A.
Total weird anxiety. |
Same, except I keep all my inboxes at 0 unread because it bothers me. |
|
A-B
I feel you op. |
|
C. I think it bothers me when it's at about 10% and I have to use it for a video chatting
|
| I have a battery case. Which one should I panick about and at what level? |
| My threshold is 20% when it threatens "Low Power Mode." My unread e-mail notification says 29,000, but that's mostly because Pottery Barn's "unsubscribe" button doesn't actually do anything. |
|
E, I guess because until the phone tells me to plug it in because its almost dead, I have no idea what the charge % is.
Who checks that at all, let alone obsessively enough to know it's at 80%, lol? I'm never far from an outlet though, so I guess if my job required me to be away from a plug, I'd be more careful and plan to have a full charge before I left. |

I start looking for a charger when it goes in the single digits. Same for the car: when the needle is hovering a hair’s breadth from E. Different people see different risks differently. I take strict Covid precautions, for instance. But all my money is in hi-tech stocks, hand-picked and managed by me. |
| I plug it in when it’s under 40%. And whenever it’s convenient for me to charge it. My phone is several years old and doesn’t stay charged for too long |
