Funeral in FL?

Would you go? It was a close relative that passed due to Covid and likely several people attending will be unvaccinated. Debating what’s worse, missing it or getting Covid.

I would go. I have family in Florida and it’s not nearly as crazy as the media makes it seem.

Where is the funeral?

Mask up, maybe with KN95 masks (which I would also do if attending a funeral here). Try not to eat indoors.

You’re vaccinated. It’s fine.

Do you have unvaccinated kids at home? That’s what would keep me home. I have one vaxxed and one not yet eligible. Trying to protect him.

Fwiw I did fly earlier in the summer when delta wasn’t as big of a deal; so I’m not totally locked down.

DO. NOT. GO.

So I had a friend who’s dad died of COVID, hosted family for the funeral, and caught COVID from them or at funeral, even though vaxed. No kids so just a week of illness, but did consider going to ED at one point.

This. If you don't have kids and decide to go, please quarantine and test when you come back to avoid covid spread just in case you caught something. Just like the other PP said, vaccinated people can still get it and spread.

Absolutely not. Natural consequences.

I'm in South Fl. If you're vaccinated, it's fine.

Nope. Even if you are vaccinated, you can transmit it snd you can get sick.

NO!

One death is enough.

It is absolutely not worth it. As of yesterday, FLA had the highest case transmission in the country.

Vacccinations are waning, and the person you want to honor will not know. Just send a very warm letter to the family. they should understand.

Otherwise, EVERY step of they way you will be at risk.

I’m sorry for the loss.

However, I had a cousin die in a tragic fire ata department store. That’s like saying I should never go to that department store again.

Was your friend’s dad masked?

OP, you will get a disproportionate amount of people on this site who will say no. If you are careful and the funeral is important, you can go safely.
