2 dishwashers- any regrets?

Anonymous
Renovating our kitchen and would like to put in an additional dishwasher. Has anyone done this and regretted it?

Our house came with two. No thought it was an overkill. But I absolutely love it now. So easy and handy. Keeps the counter clean if I need to dry pots and pans when one is already loaded full of dishes.

Wouldn’t change it EVER

I always wanted to, but wasn't ever able to do it. I honestly can't understand why anyone who has kids or entertains a lot doesn't have two.

One thing that surprised me was that my builder charged an extra waste fee (that I assumed originated with wssc)—of course it could have been builder shenanigans but I remember it being higher than I expected. That said I loved having 2!

Don’t get one with the utensil rack in the door — it’s super annoying. And yes I regret it.

Last two houses have had and would never do without. Day to day we’re basically using one as clean, other filling with dirty. With stay at home and so much cooking/eating at home - even more better!! And back in the olden days - sigh - when we entertained all the time after party/dinners clean up waa so easy.
And: The house we have this week in Rehoboth has two too.

How many people are in your family that you need two dishwashers?

If you have the space, go for 2 kitchens. That's been our setup - best move ever.

Why stop there? Why not two houses?

What do you mean “one as clean?” It only takes an hour to run it.

I have 2. 2 kids and a husband and it’s the best thing ever. Nothing in the sink ever and you don’t feel the rush to unload dishwasher

So one is like an extra cupboard?

I had two drawer dishwashers, and I liked it more than I thought I would. One could be running, and there was still a place to put dirty dishes. We are a small family, so the drawers were plenty big, but I could see wanting 2 full-sized dishwashers if you have a larger family.

Were the two dishwashers stacked or apart? We have a small kitchen and would love it if we can replace current one with the two in the same spot.
