We have 2 dishwashers in the kitchen plus a mini in the butler's pantry. We have a lot of kids, we have some elders living at home with us, we have caregivers working in our house, we entertain a lot and I am a huge baker. I could easily go to 3 dishwashers and use them all.
Every once in a while I say this and someone goes very "environmental" on me and tries to lecture against my "excess." A dishwasher uses less water and less detergent than washing dishes in the sink. And because I run the sani-dry I am getting sanitized dishes, less bacteria, than if I washed in the sink. I feel fine about having 2 dishwashers. |
The large enough kitchen and square footage of your house is an environmental downfall. Family of four living in 1200 sq ft duplex to reduce my carbon footprint and there is no way I could fit two dishwashers. You may not use plastic but your life is for sure wasteful. |

Why would anyone regret this? You just have to have a big house - either one really large kitchen or room for two kitchens. You might regret that part of things, but for other reasons.
Two dishwashers sounds great. |
