Do you say strawberry in one, two, or three syllables and where are you from?

Two - D.C.

It seems like people either say or fall into the camps of -

“Strawberry” fast and making it all as one, often with the leaning on berry sounding more like the word ‘bury’
“Straw-berry” turning it to two
“Straw-ber-ry”making it into three, again I often can hear ‘bury’ vs. ‘berry’

Three. From inside the beltway.

OP are you British or did you grow up around British people?

I think you mean straw-bry vs straw-ber-y.

I say it as 3 syllables which I think is correct.

I'm cracking up at the idea of saying strawberry as one syllable

I say strawbry, because I'm British. Same with all berries.

I don't really see how anyone could pronounce it in one...even two I would think would be more like "Straw-bree"

So yeah, I pronounce it with 3 syllables...I'm from all over--early childhood in Massachusetts, teen/early adult years in California, have lived in the DMV since I was 31 (46 now.)

It is not possible to say strawberry in one syllable, OP. I use three syllables: stra-bear-y

It’s stressing me out trying to figure out how one would do that.
