Me: what did you do in school today?
Preschooler: I didn’t step in pee-pee and speckled frogs eat flies! |
| DD: I painted. I eated. I cried. |
|
DS: Oh, I did the same things I always do.
Man, he’s becoming a teenaged boy already. But he did get up in the middle of the evening to tell me they looked at the chickens today. |
| “Nothing.” |
|
“We ran inside because the drops were falling on our heads.”
“Cool, what else happened?” “Nothing. Did you bring me a snack?” |
| "I played with puzzles and we read a story" |
| I don't remember |
|
"I didn't use the potty."
Teacher offered testimony to the contrary. |
| Whatever her big sister did in First grade is what my pre-Ker says she did in pre-K but bigger and better. Big sister went to the library and had science class. Pre-Ker went to 4 libraries and blew stuff up in science class (she doesn't even have science class). Always has to one up her sister. |
| "Ms. Marta brought sand and said we couldn't eat it." |
+1. Then (yesterday): "well yesterday we read stories at school!" His first day was yesterday, not the day before. |
|
"Don't ask me that"
I gave a threenager. |
|
Me: "what did you have for lunch?"
him: "lunch? today? I didn't have lunch" I packed him lunch so I know what he had, but that's still about as good as it gets around here. |
| “Larlo was not making his parents proud today” |
DH and I joke that what DS ate for lunch is a state secret. He will NOT tell us. |
