Anyone have this car and have any feedback? Interior looks really nice and has been getting pretty good reviews. Checks a lot of boxes.
I'm between this and a Telluride. The Jeep costs a bit more, but probably easier to get. Thanks! |
| Price point is a tad high for us but it looks great and is getting good reviews. It is has whopping 7,200 towing capacity with the V8 model that some may find attractive. It’s built for off-roaring but who is going to take advantage of that. I’d go for the heads up display and night vision camera if you can afford it. Those are some slick options. |
| I wouldn't get it to off road. You get a wrangler for that. I test drove all the SUV's. I didn't thin the Grand Cherokee was worth the money or that great. When you start adding the extra safety features its very expensive. |
| Does it handle nicely? I’m shopping too but prefer SUV’s that handle more “car like” than “truck like.” I’m definitely not going to off road. |
| I've been intrigued by the Grand Wagoneer as a possibility to replace my wife's SUV. We are generally a Wrangler family but she doesn't want that as her daily. The longer Grand Cherokee looks OK but the Grand Wagoneer (though pricey) looks like the real deal (hoping they offer a woody). |
Pretty much every Jeep is, technically, off-road capable. If you plan to use a Jeep for off road and want one that is ready to drive straight from the dealer lot to the trail, your only real choice is the JL or JLU Rubicon. (or comparably equipped Gladiator if pick-ups are your thing). That said, if you want to build one yourself -- grab a used TJ or XJ. |
+1 on Wagoneers. They look amazing. But for 100k+ I cannot pull the trigger. I only drive 2k miles in a year so spending more than 60 or 70k on a car is hard to justify. Also, jeep should give it a better name for a 6 digit car. |

OP here - thanks all!
Is there something in the $60-$65k range that people like better that has the same features/tech. Lexus 450hl? MDX? Q7? Really want three row, captains seats in second row, and nice interior. Fun to drive is bonus, but not expecting much from this class of car. I do like the design of the Jeep quite a bit and the two tone paint job is nice. But it's a lot for a Jeep. Although people are paying well into the 50s for Kias now, so I guess it's the new normal. |
Check out Explorer ST. Test drove one, still toying with it. VERY fun to drive with the ST engine. And interior feels really good (not just "for a Ford" good IMO), better to me than the Telluride although I know some people love that interior. |

I have a q7 and it is fine. I do not think they have captain chairs as an option…maybe new ones do?
It really is not an suv. I mean gravel road sure, some snow but not more than a few inches due to low clearance. They are closer to 70k though. |
The name is perfect. |
| I was between this exact car and the telluride and we bought the keep 3 days ago. So far it’s great! It’s a bit longer than my prior car and tight in our garage. We needed a car and I didn’t want to pay over MSRP for the Kia or search for a dealer that wouldn’t charge. I give an (early) recommendation. |
| We’re waiting on the non-L version of the Grand Cherokee. It’s so weird they have only produced the L for like 10 months in advance of the regular length version releasing. I love the design but the L’s length looks a bit awkward. If we needed a 3 row we’d get a Tahoe or Yukon. But our kids are all driving themselves now, so no more car pools. |

Here's the dealer offer on an Overland model essentially outitted like a Summit - all the bells and whistles, but V6:
MSRP is $62,820. Dealer Discount is $3,141 to get it to $59,679. Sales Tax is $3,700. Destimation / Regirstration / Fees: $2,655 Additional Discount: $1,034 Out the door: $65,000 Thoughts on that deal? |
I would NEVER pay that much for a car, but plenty do. |
