I think most clubs will do it. Minimal cut, but let all capable Q3/Q4 join. The roster will be 25 or more. Bench BY parents need to be realistic. |
The truth if you're being honest ... Bench parents need to be realistic |
Right? The whole “Bench BY parents” is so stupid and petty. It’s based from jealousy and ignorance mixed with a toxic hope that an age cutoff will make their own child’s outcome better. 👏 the only thing that makes a kid’s outcome better is for that kid to want and work for a better outcome 👏 |

No, the reality is as soon as SY starts, the team will be 70% Q3/Q4, just like the current 70% Q1/Q2. On the top team, everybody works hard, so your reasoning is pure stupid. So statistically speaking, if ECNL team does not increase their roster from 18 to 25, those 7 bench Q1/Q2 will be cut. |
All hail the q1/q2 doomsayer! Actually, that's likely true in about 3-5 years for all age groups as the youngers reach 11v11, but it won't be right away, as much as you apparently would like it to be. |
I think the point being made isn't about lack of hard work by anyone. It'll be more about who wants it more and plays better, continues to develop, not what birth month they are, especially now they've been playing for years at a high level. |
I think it will be the current late Q2 and early Q3 players that will be in jeopardy of spots. With a 9/1 cut off that really only moves current Q4 plays and 1 month of Q3 players. Those are the players that will move teams more than likely. But if a bench Q1 player you may have a problem. Just a side note out ECLN team has 7 Q3/Q4 players that for the cut off along with 3 on the RL team that are more than capable. The first team below us is in trouble. |
Obviously dim, even those Q3/Q4 in the RL team, they literally played up all the time. When the NL younger play against RL older, it is always RL older win. Q3/Q4 RL will replace Q1/Q2 bench. |
| I want ECNL to release an official announcement on the plan so we can decide whether to stay in GA or move to ECRL if they change next year. |
Well, even RL older isn't just Q3/Q4. It includes the entire BY. I've often seen top BY players play up on these types of teams and have no problems and often score a goal or 2. |
My whole point is bench Q1/Q2 will be replaced by Q3/Q4 RL. Top BY player's parents will not waste time here to argue among insecure parents that their kids will lose the NL spot. |
Neither would top Q3/Q4 parents. |
If that team has many Q1/Q2 bench players. Seems like most oldsters start on a lot of teams. What then? No worries. It'll all be decided on the pitch this year or next and people will move on. |
