I thought 1,000 was the goal?

Still is. We have 2 more weeks of creating false narratives and speculation before the meeting. At least one of them will turn out to be true.

You should do awards for who stirs the pot the most ...

Is it SY-60 guy

OR

Parent who's convinced q1/q2 players are doomed with SY

Other nominations remain open

5 to 9 NL players will be moved to RL teams. You do not need to believe it if that makes you feel better.

Numbers will vary by team or club. My kid is the only q3/4 on her ECNL team. The age group above has 5 q3/4. So after SY is announced and she moves down to her SY ECNL team, her old team has to make room for 5 players but she only left one spot. 4 q1/2 have to go somewhere, and RL or the GA team down the road will be the best slot for them.

It’s not like clubs are going in and cold cutting Q1/Q2 players.

No one is getting cut or moved down. Clubs will keep everyone happy and roster 22-28 kids. Take all your money and play the best players. Parents will eventually catch on and eventually leave.

You are desperate...

It will actually make sense soon enough. Wait and see how everything changes with JCs not wasting eligibility and big D1 conferences leaving the ncaa.

SY date cutoffs for the high school ages will be such a silly thing. Colleges can recruit 20 year old freshmen from JC.

My club will be playing:

- MLSNext (BY) for Academy 1
- ECNL-R (SY) for Academy 2

It will be a nightmare for age organization.

I could code that change in about 12 minutes...........I mean we put a man on the moon with the equivalent of a TI calculator, I think someone can figure out a couple of if/then lines of code.

Also best players aren't always the oldest players. Sometimes, yes. On the whole, yes (RAE thing -- which will shift depending on how things play out over time), but in my kid's age group right now some of the top players (who are now in ECNL/going deep in ODP -- yes, in our area ODP still is a thing) are Q4 birthdays. And quite honestly, I don't think those players will be shifting down when SY hits.

Don't forget, tho, 1 big reason cited as why they put off changes to 26/27 was computer scheduling!

We never put a man on the moon. That's why we have never been back.

NL players will not be moved down. If your player is a q4 player on a RL team waiting to be picked up for the 1st team, you forgot 1 thing.... the q4 players who are already own the 1st team at the older age group will now be joining the lower age group team. We are projected to lose our two q4 players at u14, but gain three q4 players from u15. If you're 1st team quality, you're already on the 1st team... a few months of age difference doesn't doesn't make you better at u14.

Please explain how so? These players already play up in ages, in some of their soccer (not ECNL currently -- they do multiple leagues), so it's not a stretch that they wouldn't join a team of younger players.

Clubs don’t want to lose money or players. Be ready for the “we are going to keep rosters together” will just have huge rosters of 10s with 11s. After about 6 months families will start leaving for GA/ECNL/MLSN/ECRL whatever league favors their kids ability with realistic playing time.

But clubs won’t tell you that you will have to figure it out.

In my 10 years watching my 2 kids playing either MLSN and ECNL for 5 clubs, I never see one kid play up in their teams. Club-wise, maybe 1 or 2 players play up of 6 age groups. Usually, if a kid can play up in MLSN/ECNL, he is most likely already joining a MLS academy team.
