What does your 12 year old boy talk about?

DS is going to be in 7th grade this year. I'm a little concerned that he still talks to his friends about superhero comics and shows all the time. When older son was that age he seemed much more mature. What does your DS talk to his friends about?

Sports. Right now it’s all things baseball. That’s all I ever hear him talking to his friends about.

I really do wish he had even one other interest.

If his friends seem into the same things, there is nothing to worry about. Let your son enjoy the topics that make him happy - there's no prize for being 'mature'.

Random you tubers, dungeons and dragons, comic books and manga, politics, movies, sports, school gossip (eg teacher did something funny, kid got in trouble, etc.)
Probably also sex but not in front of me.

Sports. professional sports, sports teams the kids are on, sports they play at the park, sometimes when his friends come over they play board games or outside games and then they talk about water gun strategy or whatever.

super heroes does seem a little young for most boys who are going-into-7th but if your son has other friends who are into them, it doesn't sound problematic.

YouTubers, random video games, politics and current events (in an immature meme type of way), and girls (how they don’t like certain ones or how they like certain ones. This changes by the minute). Only a few friends are interested in the girl discussions. All seem to be interested in the other topics. And they tell bad jokes to each other and then repeat to us and then laugh really hard.

What Superhero shows? My rising 7th grader likes Falcon and Winter Soldier and Loki. Those seem like ok shows for a boy that age to be into.
