Please recommend your favorite, high-quality GK gloves for teen keepers. My DD has been using Reusch for the past two seasons and she's been through multiple pairs. She beats them to hell but they just aren't lasting. I've looked at various soccer sites and opinions seem split between Elite, Puma Grip, Nike, and several other brands.
Also, has your keeper seen better results having multiple pairs in the rotation? |
| Overall best value for your buck is definitely Westcoast goalkeeping. Pro quality at affordable price. |
+1 and the sale selection usually has they type of cut they want even if the pattern isn't ideal |
| Absolutely Westcoast Goalkeeping! |

Came here to say West Coast Goalkeeping
https://www.westcoastgoalkeeping.com Customer service was outstanding. Bought a street ball from them, had a shipping issue and they made it right! |
| OP here - wow, unanimity is rare on the soccer forum! Thanks guys! |
| Also endorsing west coast, but also — the gloves don’t last. My DD goes through two to three pair per year. Usually we get the next about 4-5 months in, then the new gloves move into training rotation for a week or so to break them in, then the old game gloves become the training gloves, and the old(er) training gloves are trashed. Literally, as in only fit for the trash in both condition and stench. |
If they don’t last then maybe they aren’t high quality after all? Why would you endorse them if they have to be changed more often than you change your underwear? Or is it common to go through so many pairs of gloves a season regardless of brand? |
I would say 4-5 months is pretty long for a good quality gk glove. You should also wash them every3rd wearing. My keeper goes through a new pair about 2 1/2 to 3 months and rotates the game pair into training the training pair. Also the cut of the glove will affect the durability. Negative cut last the least but seem to perform very well for many keepers. It all comes down to personal preferences. The other side note WestCoast all have removable finger saves. Easy to take out and save for use when there is an injury. 99% of Keepers do not want or use finger saves. |
After two broken fingers, this is one big reason why DD likes WCG gloves! |
My keeper u16 has had multiple broken fingers including 1 surgery over the years. We used the saves while healing but removed them once we got back to full strength. |
Common regardless of brand. Don’t expect more than a few months out of a pair of GK gloves. |
| Unless your kids is a GK you really dont understand the needs of a GK. The extra equipment : quality gloves, separate kit or at least jersey, separate training because they won't get it at team practice. |
| We like Elite Goalkeeper Gloves (only make new glove purchase 2 x year) and have been huge fans of Keeperstop.com for recommendations on affordable but high-quality materials and equipment. We tried West Coast but our GK was MEH on fit, performance. Elite has a HYDRO glove that works great in wet conditions. Again, can't say enough about the customer service at https://www.keeperstop.com/. Created by a Goalkeeper for the goalkeeping community. |
Keeperstop is very limited in brands and only promote brands that they receive compensation from. The never review or promote Nike. The Nike Vapor grip 3 has been a top choice many high level GKs for years. Since they dont compensate Keeperstop they dont get the recommendation on the website. |
