Dreadful. They usually have a few kids who end up with low D1 or D3 offers, but the team and program is awful.

PP: you sound like some clueless mom. what does low D1 offers mean? D3 doesnt even make offers..

D1 Lacrosse has less than 12.6 full scholarships a year. Most schools break up the money and spread it over across the team. Sure little Johnny might get a $8,000 lacrosse scholarship but you probably paid that in all of the club lacrosse dues you spent and the time traveling from club event to club event. The majority of the players on a D1 roster (my guess 65%) of them are paying full freight tuition and dont receive any type of money.

It means the kids in that program are typically going either D3, D1 schools that are not top tier programs, or are not being recruited for college lacrosse.

What do you mean D3 does not even make offers?

D3 schools can not offer athletic scholarships

So you mean no scholarship money. But D3 schools still recruit and an an applicant can get an admissions' bump, yes?

Not a Landon hater, but definitely skeptical about one thing. Why are George Huguely's lacrosse accomplishments still listed on Landon's website? Why is his father's money giving and other name associations listed out by the school? You won't find OJ Simpson or Reggie Bush noted in the USC history books. There are other colleges and prep schools which redact name publicity from their walls and publications when social taste and standards demand it. Is Landon tone deaf to this or is their just an institutional loyalty or arrogance involved in the Landon culture to tolerate it? The kid was a great lacrosse player and Landon is a lacrosse crazy school. His dad was a big money donor and there aren't a lot of those at a school with a $50mm endowment. But it isn't like Huguely is in scarce company of Landon kids who made All Met or played D1, and it certainly is not the case that his dad was the only one who stroked a six figure donation check to the school. Why the sacred cow treatment? To the extent the status quo is comfortable for Landon on this one is not a positive I think

Yes, I did. As we are looking at schools locally, it just keeps hitting hard back that Landon digs in and is defiant about everything. Including the Huguelys. This does help with our decision. Thank you for your input.

It's Landon. What do you expect?

I expected much more entertaining posts from the Landon blue bloods. Maybe today is bridge day at the club or free donuts and coffee day at the Upper School.

Well if searching the website for George Huguely is what most interested you in looking at schools, then I guess you Landon isn't the place for you. If you truly at looked at the website, you woudl have allso seen the many news items relating to the artists, community service, musicians and other sports that are celebrated. Look at the water polo team that has an undefeated record or the cross country that just won again.

Landon is a much different schoo lthan it was when George Huguely attended. he is listed on the website as havign achieved all met and where he stood in scoring. He is not singled out. Whether this shoudl be done or not, his name is not in lights.

Good luck with your school search.

My guess is your real intent is to stir up people once again.
