NBC4 reporting that ACPS will not require masks for students or staff for the fall

NBC4 is reporting that ACPS is not requiring masks for students or staff. Can someone point me to an official announcement that this is the plan for the fall?

Sorry but the CDC guidance now says ALL schools must have ALL staff and students wear masks. CDC also says DC is has a high rate of transmission.

My kids has to miss two weeks of camp because of covid exposure. What’s the plan if this happens at school?

CDC has exactly zero power to impose the restriction

Given that Arlington, DCPS, Montgomery County, and Prince George's are following CDC's guidance, I am hard pressed to think this is accurate reporting. Hope it is not.

At the bottom of this article, it says masks for K to 6th grade in ACPS. I can’t find a recent statement on the ACPS site to confirm though.

The article was written just before the CDC announcement. I'm guessing more to come...

I hope all the anti-maskers in my district move there.

The article was updated to say that ACPS doesn't have a mask policy yet. Just sloppy reporting.

But, everyone will be fully masked at ACPS regardless of what the CDC is saying now or what they say a month from now.

ACPS has been eerily quiet about fall plans despite despite being less than a month before classes start.

Yeah - ACPS will definitely require masks now - they have been extremely safety conscious with all things COVID: I would be super surprised if they didn't require masks like other surrounding school districts.

Masks are a moving target.

ACPS has been super cautious. My guess is that they will have everyone wear masks in and outside the building. I don't care what I have to do if it means my kids will be back in school. Honestly, masks are not the hill I die on. I think it's a bit silly for vaccinated staff and students to have to wear masks and I don't think you should have to wear masks outdoors, but I'm fine with masks in the classroom. I hope ACPS figures out a plan for encore and lunch. Maybe eating outside in tents like the private schools all have outside their buildings when it is nice out?

That NBC link must have been updated. It says ACPS hasn't made a decision yet. Seems odd that it's so late in the decision process.
