Any adults here play in the FXA soccer leagues?

Was wondering if any adults here have experience playing in FXA soccer leagues (either men 11v11, 8v8 or coed 11v11 and 8v8)?

Is competitive at a level that you're going to pull muscles and risk injury or just be exposed to petty fights or is it competitive in a fun way without drama?

The website provides a lot of information https://fxasports.com/ but I wanted to know if there were any folks here who have experience and can offer insight into whether this was a nice organized way to play soccer (for someone in their early 40s).

Thanks

If your in your 40s, Look into Alexandria’s over 35 leagues. Plenty of pulls because it’s 50 year old men running around trying to cut, never saw any fights

It's been several years but I played FXA in the mid-tier league and had a great experience. I played at 45 and was one of weaker/est players on the team but the competition was solid and - for the most part - everyone was well behaved and had fun. They have a ton of options to include joining a group of "unassigned" players to form a team. That was the route I took because I didn't come with a group. I ended up playing with 80% of the players for nearly two years.

Is there an age limit? What I mean is can My 17 year old son play? He gave up travel soccer for next year because its his senior yr in HS and didn't want the 4 day per week commitment.

Why not just sign him up for a Rec team that plays in the SFL?

Because he played at a higher level than rec in travel. I think playing with adults would be a closer fit for him. He's not an elite college level player. Just a solid 17 yr old travel player. This would be for the upcoming fall.

Most adult men’s games 20-35 aren’t going to hold back on a 17 year old. There is a reason even internationals play u17 u19 u21 etc.
put your son in harms way at your own risk. Some harm is not even intentional, some players can’t stop on a time and will tear your ACL
As they fall on you.

Thats stupid I have played in FFX leagues for years. The average adult players in the FFX aren't at that high of a level or that intense. For the most part its 22-50 year old guys and girls playing at a semi competitive level. If your son is a middle of the road travel player at age 17 he will do just fine. Its usually the one psycho path 30 year old who thinks he belongs on the national team that plays so wild that people get injured.

Your post seems to affirm the other poster’s general warning quite well.

Every league is different. There is some truth to older players compensating for dwindling speed with rough play.

An average travel player would fit right in in u19 rec.

I think you need to be 18 to play FXA.

Is FXA LGBT friendly? Do they have teams that are?
