Why not just sign him up for a Rec team that plays in the SFL?
Because he played at a higher level than rec in travel. I think playing with adults would be a closer fit for him. He's not an elite college level player. Just a solid 17 yr old travel player. This would be for the upcoming fall.
Most adult men’s games 20-35 aren’t going to hold back on a 17 year old. There is a reason even internationals play u17 u19 u21 etc. put your son in harms way at your own risk. Some harm is not even intentional, some players can’t stop on a time and will tear your ACL As they fall on you.
Thats stupid I have played in FFX leagues for years. The average adult players in the FFX aren't at that high of a level or that intense. For the most part its 22-50 year old guys and girls playing at a semi competitive level. If your son is a middle of the road travel player at age 17 he will do just fine. Its usually the one psycho path 30 year old who thinks he belongs on the national team that plays so wild that people get injured.
