They are literally creeping in all the Real Estate threads. Anyway to get them to chill?

I generally only find myself in the Real Estate forum when someone has reported a post. I didn't know about this poster until I just checked the forum now. The poster appears to not only be a realtor, but a big time sock puppet. I have removed some of their posts and will remove some more. I completely removed the thread about Pasadena because it was mostly sock puppeted. Please report additional posts by this person.

The troll was OP of all but two of those threads.

This troll appears to really have their finger on the pulse of DCUM. In addition to the Pasadena troll threads, the poster has started multiple other threads, hitting some of the most hot button topics on DCUM. The poster basically creates 10 pages threads without breaking a sweat.

We are not real estate agents, we are “trolls” trying to get data for a sociology capstone project. We are studying how influential discussions on mom boards are. If some of the stuff we posted sounds wonky, it’s because half our team isn’t from MD and had to ask MD natives about different areas. The person responsible for much of the Pasadena posts was actually not an MD native at all. We created hot button threads about various topics to try to understand the mindset of parents in different metropolitan areas and also estimate how influential these boards are in steering. It was very entertaining being the “trolls” who start hot button topics and watch shitstorms, but more importantly, we have valuable data archived for our capstone.

Yeah, you are a bunch of assholes. I also have a trove of archived data and I'll happily publish my own project showing how you used racial issues to create divisive threads. It takes a real genius to troll an anonymous forum. You should be really proud of yourselves. You have now reach the pinnacle of success that might have been have been expected of the average 6th grader. That's quite the "capstone".

You don't have "valuable data." You don't have data at all -- you have anecdotes.

There is an embarrassing lack of methodology here. Research is, first and foremost, about engaging in a systematic process by which you allow reality to resist your preconceptions about it and tell you something about the world. It's not just flinging poo at the walls and finding the shitstorm entertaining. That's just a pile of poo.

It's also a literal internet joke -- "I was just doing research."

I really how you get decent feedback about trolling around on the internet and calling it science. I really hope you do. You should learn something from this while you are young and showing your ass is somewhat forgivable. Maybe you will, and maybe you won't. Either way, this isn't contributing anything to knowledge.

And by sockpuppeting, you very clearly violated the TOS. Be sure to put that in your powerpoint.
