I do have empathy for her but I am sure she knew it was on the list of banned substances. |
| I think it's dumb for them to monitor things that are not performance-enhancing drugs - but also dumb for her to do it since it's a known thing that they are testing for it. |
| I feel like such a loser looking at how much she accomplishes stoned versus how little I'm able to accomplish sober. |
My sister joked that MJ is the opposite of performance enhancing. |
| Isn’t CBD part of part and helps you feel better? If true, wouldn’t this allow you to work out more? Does it ‘hide’ other drugs? |
You made me laugh! Thank you! |

I love her!
I’m sad she made a mistake that will cost her the Olympics. I think this experience will make her grow as a person. A reporter notified her that her mom was dead the day she smoked pot. She used an unhealthy coping mechanism to deal with that. She’s human. I almost love her more now. I hope she gets the counseling she needs and thrives. I actually think she will be a better role model with this misstep. Michael Phelps also got caught smoking pot. Didn’t stop him. I love her!! |
I agree. Pisses me off that pot is in the list of what they test for. Also stupid if her to take that risk. |
| I love her more after seeing her interview on NBC this morning. I’m really glad Nike is going to continue to support her. |
Phelps was in 'retirement' when he was caught smoking pot. This woman's a member of the Olympic team that's scheduled to compete in 3 weeks. And there's no way she didn't know pot is a prohibited substance, no way. Too bad as she had a real chance to win.. |
|
It’s so dumb. First she was ambushed mid-interview with the news that her bio mom died then she did a drug legal in the state. One that hundreds of DCUMers claim to use to improve sleep or sex.
We don’t want to send our best to the Olympics more than we wa t to punish these talented young woman. |
Why didn't she just have a beer? I mean, come on, if you're a pro, you should know better. Shame.
|
I was an Olympic hopeful in 2008 and 2012 and even back then there was an app for USADA and WADA (plus the website) and there was no question about what you can and cannot have in your system when in and out of competition. I had to reference it every single time I went to the doctor. So, I don’t feel bad for her. She knew. She did it anyway. |
I don't think she's pretending that she didn't know. |
What sport - just curious
