No. She wanted it on camera. I assume they will release a transcript.

When these things are on camera, is when we have the Congressional grandstanding (both sides.) Staff attorneys will be questioning them. They usually stick to the subject.

Dem Congressmen are up there--including mine--are up there to watch, I think.

cont. Clintons could have had an open meeting but wouldn't come without a subpoena.

Money will pay a big part of this. Not sure HRC will be questioned about the social aspects--though Ghislaine did get an invite to Chelsea's wedding.

I would guess WJC's questioning might go to the social/sexual aspects.

I hope somebody asks who introduced them and how they became chummy.

That's the part seemingly missing from everything. How did all these people come into contact with Epstein.

I have an understanding I never had as a GenX woman regarding how power operates and I am devastated that this is the world my DD will live in for all of our lives. The architects, beneficiaries, and silent observers of the most grotesque acts of abuse are equally unforgivable if not legally equally culpable of specific cruelties. The lack of large-scale denouncement of Ivy-credentialed professors, of the language of supremacy, and of the governmental failure to appoint special masters to organize and explicate the material is damning. The failure to provide consistent, buildable coverage by the big networks, the NYT and the WaPo are part of an obvious choice to let the victims and those who always believed them still be reduced to conspiracists.

My political awakening is, I hope, similar to others here. This is a rupture, a marking of then and the future. We cannot be “regular” Democrats without being fully complicit with these crimes. The republicans are lost, and we have to accept that too, and prosecute and document everything possible.

This is my litmus test for Dems. Either hold people accountable or get out of the way. Not just accountability for these survivors but for the trauma inflicted on our immigrant communities. Because it’s all the same! I’m so sick of Democrats being just a little better.

“Instead, you have compelled me to testify, fully aware that I have no knowledge that would assist your investigation, in order to distract attention from President Trump's actions and to cover them up despite legitimate calls for answers.

If this Committee is serious about learning the truth about Epstein's trafficking crimes, it would not rely on press gaggles to get answers from our current president on his involvement; it would ask him directly under oath about the tens of thousands of times he shows up in the Epstein files.

If the majority was serious, it would not waste time on fishing expeditions. There is too much that needs to be done.
What is being held back? Who is being protected? And why the cover-up?

My challenge to you, Mr. Chairman, Members of the Committee, is the same challenge I put to myself throughout my long service to this nation. How to be worthy of the trust the American people have given you. They expect statesmanship, not gamesmanship. Leading, not grandstanding. They expect you to use your power to get to the truth and to do more to help survivors of Epstein's crimes as well as the millions more who are victims of sex trafficking.”

She was a little girl and a victim. She is not model material though. Apart from the fact she was thin.

And why would he put his own daughter in harm’s way? Well we know why.

Epstein’s efforts to corrupt the justice system is important because, had some of these figures rigorously investigated and monitored Epstein, he may not have been able to continue to sexually abuse women and girls for another decade.”

Like I said, there's no way he committed suicide given his connections to rich and powerful men from around the world. He could've easily blackmailed/leveraged the connection to get a slap on the wrist like he did with the first case.

The modeling industry treats women like a piece of meat, and Trump clearly sees women, even his own daughter, the same way.

The House Oversight Committee’s deposition of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been halted after committee member Congresswoman Lauren Boebert took an unauthorized photo of Clinton and sent it to Benny Johnson, who promptly disseminated it after adding his watermark.

Yup. Sharing photos of a behind-closed-doors deposition without the consent of all parties involved is prohibited. It could result in device confiscation and potential contempt charges. So Hillary wanted the hearing public, but Republicans insisted on a closed door hearing. Then a Republican violated the rules of said closed door hearing.

Sigh. Such a great lady. With significant flaws, but she would have made a much better President than Trump. But deplorables could not see that.

Oh! so now you want privacy. How convenient for you. Anything to obstruct.

It all reads like these men and women quite literally pimp their teen daughters out to each other — and then put them into arranged marriages with rich men.
