| Already to therapy and exercise.. what can I take for severe anxiety and depression. I have an issue where I have a major drug reaction/ side effect to all antidepressents and cannot take. |
|
CBD oil. Melatonin for sleep. Magnesium.
Acupuncture |
| I feel like your doctor should answer this question if they know u have a reaction to certain drugs already? |
| Also, if you are on hormonal birth control pills, you may want to reconsider. It made me nuts with so much anxiety and I felt so much better once I was off of it. |
|
CBD
CBD Delta 8 OTC sleep aids |
I have seen multiple doctors. I have a major reaction to dry mouth and it is caused a major dental issue despite meticulous care and checkups so I cannot take SSRI/Wellbutrin/Prozac etc because my body cannot handle this side effect. I need something I can take that isn't a Rx because that is a major side effect of almost all. |
| There are a wide variety of antidepressants out there. Have you worked with a psychiatrist to find one that doesn’t have dry mouth as a side effect? |
| Microdosing worked for Ayelet Waldman. https://www.newyorker.com/culture/persons-of-interest/how-ayelet-waldman-found-a-calmer-life-on-tiny-doses-of-lsd |
| CBD. |
+magnesium, theanine, and a B/folate combo in the afternoon. |
|
Botox is what works best for me when I am really down or really anxious. Then when thar kicks in I can be functional enough to do the regular stuff that keeps my mental health in check, like reading good books, exercising, seeing friends, etc.
Quitting alcohol was really helpful too. I do plan on trying acupuncture and CBD oil. A lot cheaper than Botox, I’m sure. |
How does Botox work for anxiety? |
I've gotten decent results from Vistaril/Hydroxyzine, which isn't an SSRI or antidepressant. But it is a prescription med. |
|
Are you working with a psychiatrist or just your internist. I feel like a psychiatrist would have a lot more drug options than just SSRI or nothing.
For example, beta blockers are sometimes used to control anxiety, and I don’t think dry mouth is a typical side effect foe those. Also, have you talked with your dentist? I think there are special mouthwashes for dry mouth. |
| Fish oil is also helpful for some people. I was also going to recommend magnesium. There’s some studies supporting each of those. And also CBT. |
